Re: 2017 Best Animated Feature

From what I've heard, Hasbro has apparently been none too happy with how Lionsgate has handled the film, particularly when it to marketing, which ended up falling almost entirely on the shoulders of merchandise. Lionsgate also bizarrely released the film on a fraction of the screens an animated movi...

Re: Man of Steel, Justice League and DC MOVIES

I've heard it's very similar to the Justice League cartoon series in terms of humor and action. But I also think at this point some critics are going despise Snyder regardless of what kind of film he makes. Watchmen was not "turned into a video game" by Snyder, nor was it made into a "...

Re: Official Star Wars Thread

I'm going to assume this isn't the super cool title Ben may have heard about a while back? ;)

Re: Spies in Disguise

There's only been one Rio sequel. And it was made before Ice Age "left" as you word it.

Re: The Lego Ninjago Movie

I thought it was fun overall. Probably a "6 out of 10" movie, I guess, but the relationship between Garmadon (sp?) and Lloyd provided plenty of comedy that made the film worth a look for me. Though in many ways, at least towards the beginning, it does kinda feel like "Lego does Power ...

Re: Sing

I've praised Sing in the past, but one thing that stands out about it is that in many ways Illumination's most "grown-up" film to date...which I guess is ironic on some levels considering it is a movie about singing animals. But as I said on Facebook when it came out, if you simply want to...

Re: Upcoming animated films calendar and date changes

With how far into production it must've been, it being "removed" completely would be unlikely (especially from the dependable Blue Sky label). But I'll remove it from the calendar for now.

Re: Peter Rabbit (2018)

Wait, Paddingdon was "snarky"?

Did I see a different movie or something? ;)

And I tend to like Cordon in a Russell Brand kind of way. But he might be better suited for supporting comic relief than leading man (er, bunny in this case).

Re: Ferdinand

Fox is marketing Ferdinand much more than Disney ever marketed Pooh (which, really, they more or less threw away).

Ferdinand will also be the only new animated movie playing for Christmas break.

Re: Ferdinand

It's also why we got Ant Bully and Polar Express, when the producer couldn't get Maurice Sendak.
