Re: Upcoming animated films calendar and date changes

With how far into production it must've been, it being "removed" completely would be unlikely (especially from the dependable Blue Sky label). But I'll remove it from the calendar for now.

Teen Titans Go!: July 27th, 2018.

Re: Peter Rabbit (2018)

Wait, Paddingdon was "snarky"?

Did I see a different movie or something? ;)

And I tend to like Cordon in a Russell Brand kind of way. But he might be better suited for supporting comic relief than leading man (er, bunny in this case).

Re: Ferdinand

Fox is marketing Ferdinand much more than Disney ever marketed Pooh (which, really, they more or less threw away).

Ferdinand will also be the only new animated movie playing for Christmas break.

Re: Ferdinand

It's also why we got Ant Bully and Polar Express, when the producer couldn't get Maurice Sendak.

I get so lost when reading your posts sometimes. :?

Re: Peter Rabbit (2018)

Compared to the trailer for The Star, this looks like Citizen Kane, actually.

Also, Peter looks exactly as he did in the book illustrations.

Re: Isle of Dogs

He was terrific in Kung Fu Panda 3 as Po's dad. But Cranston's probably great in pretty much anything.

Re: Ferdinand

The poster campaign for this movie has been great so far:

Isle of Dogs

The new trailer for Isle of Dogs has dropped online, and it looks appropriately bizarre:

Re: Upcoming animated films calendar and date changes

The Croods 2 is back! I'm assuming things were worked out so that Universal gets distribution rights. September 18, 2020.

And another DreamWorks film, Spooky Jack, is set for September 17, 2021.

Re: Leap!

Leap is...okay. Not a "must-see" by any means, but darn me if the film's not likable . It would appear, though, that the box office returns are causing TWC to abandon their upcoming animated slate: http://animatedviews.com/2017/the-weinstein-company-quietly-cancels-theatrical-release-for-t...

Re: Leap!

Yeah I think this was discussed in our calendar app topic.

Anyway, Leap! failed to...you know at the box office.

Re: The Lego Ninjago Movie

Lego does not have to be capitalized, but it's how they always write it (for whatever reason), so I guess I did it out of habit.

Ferdinand

I don't think we have a thread for this, but if we do, can someone with power please merge? Anyway, this ends the "flood" of topics we've been needing.

My Little Pony: The Movie

Another thread we've been needing. Though it's been drawing plenty of hype from fans, this still remains a "wild card" in terms of box office, largely thanks to Lionsgate being behind it. And big screen movies for popular TV series have been both hits (SpongeBob) and major misses (Hey Arno...

The Lego Ninjago Movie

Another thread we need, so prepare for a small flood of these. This one does look a lot better than some might expect, especially for a franchise that probably wasn't demanding a big screen movie (hence the studio using the name LEGO much more than "Ninjago"" in the marketing). https:...
