Re: Condorito & other miscellaneous animated fare
Ironically, its release was ruined in the states by the US boycotting the Olympics that year (which I think is why it became a TV special instead).

Re: Toy Story 4
It sounds from what I've heard like it was a "boundaries thing" more than anything, in that he apparently liked hugging people who didn't want to be hugged. But then there was that story about the Tinker Bell fairies, so I don't know. In any case, it didn't bode well for Pixar's already co...

Re: Toy Story 4
Not sure how the release date is news. It was announced last year! Guess Pixar has made it "official" recently.

At the very least, it's at least not desperately trying to capture the glory days the way modern Simpsons often does. At the same time, I'll still attest that Si...

Re: Disney's Gravity Falls
Could this be because Gravity Falls is more "offbeat" than Disney's usual cartoons?
Oh well. Super cool! I'll be getting this.

Re: Official Star Wars Thread
I loved the new Trek films (welp, actually not so new anymore, as the first one turns ten next year!), Khan references and all. Since the universes are meant to "mirror" each other anyway it all made perfect sense to me. But I still stand by my initial opinion that J.J. gave the Star Wars ...

Re: The Simpsons
Yes. Poochie was a direct jab at a character who was barely in a movie which almost no one saw, that had opened five years prior to the episode airing, and who didn't even have any of the 90's characteristics of him.

Re: The Simpsons
So Eric is saying there have been "no funny" Simpsons episodes since the Monorail one then?
I'm going to assume he somehow hasn't seen Itchy, Scratchy and Poochie, among several other examples.

Re: Isle of Dogs
So...you're saying that Fox Searchlight--who distributed both films--didn't "sit through" Fantastic Mr. Fox before greenlighting another film from the same director? They liked Mr. Fox. If they hadn't, there would be no Dogs. (Also, a "93%" rating on RT would suggest that at leas...

Re: Isle of Dogs
Box Office Mojo no longer has Isle of Dogs listed as a wide release, claiming its opening on a "limited" number of screens on their release schedule.
