Re: The Secret World of Arrietty

Well, I also remember reading somewhere that Madman Australia will release a Deluxe edition of Arrietty later this year featuring both the US and UK dubs. If they also include the UK extras, I would say it would be the one to go for! EDIT: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://twitter.com/anime...

Re: The Secret World of Arrietty

Australia's DVD/Blu-Ray release has the UK dub on it. And it's the only English dub presented. I plan to sit down this weekend and watch it. Is the Australian release region free by any chance? Got myself the barebones US release recently since that rather goodlooking UK release was Region B locked...

Re: The New DVD and Blu Thread

Great news for all Ghibli fans! Amazon is taking pre-orders for Ghibli's "Castle in the Sky" and "Whisper of the Heart" BDs alongside "Arrietty". Amazon.ca lists the release date as May 22nd.

Optimum (UK) and Madman (Australia) have the rights to their other (mainly pre-Ghibli) films too (The Little Norse Prince, Castle of Cagliostro, Grave of the Fireflies, Ocean Waves), Disney doesn't. Also, they are yet to release "Only Yesterday" across stateside, which was indeed a part of...

That's blasphemy, James  I personally love most of Ghibli films and find it impossible to pick just one. However, I must admit that I find "The Cat Returns" to be their weakest till date. That was never meant to be a feature film, anyway. I'd love to see Only Yesterday (which looks l...

Re: Tons of news about Toy Story & Ghibli future DVD/BDs

Its rather shameful that the real subtitles on Castle in the Sky were not included. Clearly they still want to force that terrible dub down everyone's throats inspite of all the flak they've been getting over the years for it. Lame. Anyway, I'm glad Totoro has got some nice, meaty extras :) I wonder...

I would've so loved to be a part of it if I wasn't travelling that day. Must've been fun. Like Zach, I was also thinking if we'll get to see the chat script here again.

I completely agree with Randall here. While I did enjoy watching Avatar in IMAX 3D and all that, I can honestly say, it hasn't been too long and I can remember very little about it. Not a big fan of The Hurt Locker either, but I don't really think Avatar even deserved a nomination in major categories.
