Re: Critical Role

Second episode of the present campaign. Because Ashley stars in Blindspot, which films in New York, she tends to be absent from Critical Role from time to time. If able, she could jump in on Skype, but only if she's not filming.

Critical Role

As mentioned on the Year of the Review, one of my highlights of 2017 was the discovery of Critical Role. It's an internet show that broadcasts via Twitch the live Dungeons and Dragons gaming sessions of well known voice actors with Matthew Mercer (Resident Evil, Attack on Titan) serving as Dungeon M...

Re: Superman Actress Margot Kidder Passes Away

Margot was one of my first celebrity pics. I think it was Comic Con 2005? I didn't know how exactly to go about doing the whole celebs picture thing then, but she was patient with me. Even gave me a pointer or two, which I've been using since. She was "my" Lois Lane growing up, even when m...

Re: Avengers and the MCU

Had a big smile on my face after walking out of the theater. That was awesome. 8) I'll say this to those who were not prepared for what they witnessed in the film: If the next (Avengers) film follows a little more in the path of the source book "The Infinity Gauntlet", it's going to be bru...

Pre-ordered the second I got home from work yesterday. 8)

Apparently if you pre-order now it'll ship two weeks early.

Re: Criterion Collection

While my priority would be out of print titles, I get the feeling that I would essentially be like Alfonso Cuaron and Pawel Pawlikowski. I'd straight up raid the closet like them.

Re: Criterion Collection

Somewhat reviving the thread to post a recent video Criterion posted of Lee Unkrich picking out films from their closet and explaining why some of them are great to him.

Re: Official Star Wars Thread

I never had the impression Ben/Kylo's training was on the same island (or even planet) as where Luke exiled himself on. I think I have this impression that Luke had set up shop somewhere that was acceptably nearby to Leia (and probably Han). Hidden for being a slight spoiler: And I'm also of the...

Re: Official Star Wars Thread

Goofy, yes. Weird, not really all that weird the way I probably viewed things. WTF, I didn't get such a vibe.

Ended up liking it a lot, actually. I really liked what Rian put together. 8)

Re: Man of Steel, Justice League and DC MOVIES

So during a presentation at the Comic Con Experience 2017 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Warner Bros. unveiled their current slate of DC films. They are, in no real particular order: Wonder Woman II Aquaman Flashpoint Suicide Squad II Shazam Batgirl Green Lantern Corps The Batman Justice League Dark And that...

Re: Man of Steel, Justice League and DC MOVIES

Oh, the box-office analysis for Justice League is going to be absolutely terrifying. Already there's trouble on the horizon as it reportedly only drew $13 million on the Thursday overnight. That's generally respectable (exemplified by Thor: Ragnarok making $14.5 million two weeks before). But $13 mi...

Re: Man of Steel, Justice League and DC MOVIES

Word of mouth may end up being key to whether or not this "version" of their shared universe will continue on as they're clearly not going to get any help from the critics. I received an email from WB's marketing and they were pushing really hard that audience feedback they've received thu...

Re: Gigantic

I was about to note my being taken aback by this, but I suddenly came to a realization. It's lack of presence at this year's D23 should have been a telling sign that things were not progressing along after its announcement at the 2015 D23. Still, a bummer that it's being shelved. I rather liked the ...
