Re: AV XV: Views at 15

GOTTA ADD IT TO THE TIMELINE!

:)

Can’t remember that other site’s name, but ToonsOnDVD doesn’t sound right. One of them will chime in soon enough!

Re: AV XV: Views at 15

Sounds like you're talking about ToD forum members while Ben and I thought you were talking about ToD staff members. Sorry for the confusion!

I don't think I ever visited ToonsOnDVD. Did AM have a forum? I can't remember!

Re: AV XV: Views at 15

I don't know about ToonsonDVD. Olivier had people who would send him news, tips, and info for Animated Movies, but in the end the site was all him.

Re: AV XV: Views at 15

Today's the day! Animated Views launched exactly 15 years ago! We have a couple of special pieces of content to celebrate with! Animated Movies Database Archive http://animatedviews.com/about/anniversary/animated-movies-database-archive/ Take a trip back in time to 2003 and the site that we descende...

Re: Animated Views 2018 Revamp

Thanks Vi! Text size was a huge factor in us doing this revamp. I actually use the site while on my phone now, which I used to only do in the past when absolutely necessary!

Here’s a great in-depth story on how he was forced out. Didn’t know that the guy who replaced him was a wannabe rapper with no animation experience when he started!

AV wouldn't have made it this far without your support and we appreciate you guys so much for sticking with us! ...

The calendar page is back up! It's not the new revamped version yet, but so many people have asked about it that I've gone ahead and just put the original version back up for now!

Re: New Popular Film Oscar

The reason people don’t see those kinds of movies any more is that the cost of going to the movies is astronomical. So people only go to movies they know they’re going to like. Why risk $70 bucks? I think eventually MoviePass is going to be proven a trailblazer and all the theatre chains will offer ...

Re: New Popular Film Oscar

Here's my solution for the Academy. Look to the founding fathers of the United States! Laws are voted on by two chambers of Congress, elected by 50 states, some of which are larger than others: the Senate (where every state is equal) and the House (where state voting is determined by population). Th...

Don't know the guy and didn't read the piece, but seeing that it is Forbes just a heads up that they have a very liberal policy when it comes to accepting submissions from just about anyone. So unless it's a staff write for Forbes, the author could just be some schmoe like us writing what would norm...

Re: Animated Views 2018 Revamp

Thanks. I wanted our articles to look more like magazine pieces than website posts. In that vein, the background color was chosen to kind of seem like paper. Also helps make the bigger images pop I think.

Truth be told, the real reason we did this entire revamp is just so we could finally get a new logo! ;)
