Re: Sing

Wow. I think I missed getting a review up for this despite seeing it opening weekend. It was Christmas I believe so probably why I didn't get it done. But looking over my notes now, I had planned to pan it. I don't remember it much but according to what I wrote at the time: -- bland, inoffensive -- ...

MoviePass lowers subscription price - dramatically!

I joined a service called MoviePass back in 2013. It's kinda like Netflix for theatres. You pay a monthly subscription fee and can then go see one movie per day. I wrote a couple of articles about it back then: http://animatedviews.com/2013/moviepass-how-it-works/ http://animatedviews.com/2013/movie...

Ask Alexa for AV headlines on Echo and Fire

If you have an Amazon device with their voice assistant Alexa (like the Echo, Echo Dot, Fire tablet, or Fire TV), Animated Views now has a "skill" (what they call their apps basically) that when enabled will allow you to add our latest headlines to your daily news briefing! Check it out he...

Disney World's Happily Ever After

Disney movie fans and/or Disney World fans need to set aside 18 minutes to watch this video of the park's new nighttime show which debuted this weekend. It is absolutely stunning. They literally animate the castle! And they didn't just focus on the most popular characters and songs for this show - t...

Re: Avengers and the MCU

Saw it this past weekend. Extremely fun! They avoided a sequel pitfall in that they didn't just try to recreate all the best bits from the first movie. We got all new jokes and set pieces that didn't just call back to or ape the last. I think the first was better from a story standpoint. This one wa...

Re: UPDATED! AV Countdown for iPhone, Windows Phone, and Android

I've not kept up with posting the countdown pages from the app in this forum. Here's the ones I missed (except for ones that have already passed like Rock Dog!) and what's just been added this week. The app now has everything coming through the rest of the year: cars.jpg leap.jpg coco.jpg dme3.jpg p...

Very true but it's probably also down to Taika Waititi's direction as well.

Re: DreamWorks' Boss Baby

AV review: http://animatedviews.com/2017/the-boss-baby-film/ Not much to say since the film doesn't have much meat on the bone! In the review, I mention "for over half the movie there's a completely reasonable, and somewhat clever, explanation for a briefcase-carrying baby who has wads of cash ...

Re: X-Men Movies Thread

I liked it. It was definitely more "real" (for lack of a better word coming to mind!) than any other X-Men film. But I also felt it wasn't as deep as it was trying to be. If you scratch the surface a bit the story really was pretty basic. I loved the beginning and set-up. But once they hit...
