Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe
I watched Qantumania for the first time last night. Whoo boy, their earlier successes really went to their heads. Someone needs to recognize when things go off the rails and say, "No, that's a terrible idea." It wasn't all bad, of course, and there are far worse films out there, but if only they'd a...

Re: The Muppets
Between this and Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story, I'm going to be a wreck.

Re: The Muppets
I'm feeling like it'll be time to pull out the hankies. Should be good.

Didn't see the last Transformers film then?
I didn't either, but the crossover was hinted at there.

Re: Disney's Wish
Re: Frozen II: At least it looks slick. My rating allows room to go down if the technical aspects also disappoint. Like in Wish. If Frozen II is a 2, one wonders how you would rate something like Hoodwinked Too, Happily N'ever After, or any other cheap inferior product. There are far worse films out...

Re: Disney's Wish
Thinking back on John Lasseter coming into Disney's 00s malaise, looking at the end of Meet the Robinsons and pulling it out of development hell, I can just picture Lasseter looking at that ending scene where the point finally came together and saying "Make THAT film." Boy, does that nail it. Yes! ...

Re: Disney's Wish
It has been done. My son and I watched Wish tonight. My boy admitted to doing it as a "hate watch," given the negative buzz on it. Me, I was hoping to exercise my superpower - where I can find almost any film endurable and see the positives in it. I think Ben would call that a character flaw. ;) But...

Very sensible, and a relief they're giving it more time to develop and find its own way.

Re: Disney's Wish
Rarely has watching a Disney film for the first time felt so daunting a task! Nevertheless, it must be done - hopefully soon (and get it over with!).
And Hunchback was mostly brilliant. No hate coming from here.

DVD-Rs, though, as a WA release. Too bad, but one takes what one can get. I still pick up the occasional Warner Archive DVD-R myself.

Re: WB Archive Collection: Discs On Demand!
Dying? Maybe. But far from dead. I see articles like this all the time nowadays. The hobby is thriving in lots of ways, with more releases than ever, from lots of both studios and boutique labels. They just don't sell in the millions anymore. But all those boutique labels do great at exploiting the ...

Re: WB Archive Collection: Discs On Demand!
Right, no "A" for Cabin. I just really like it. Interesting for being an early all-black mudical, sexy Lena Horne, great cast, great music, and I always am intrigued by afterlife morality plays.

Same: The Broadway Melody; Cats Don’t Dance (at last!); The Devil Doll; DuBarry Was A Lady; Gay Purr-ee; Tarzan The Ape Man Different: A Cabin in the Sky (so happy!); Isle of the Dead (how did I hold out so long?); Rancho Notorious; The Adventures of Don Juan; The Land of the Pharaohs; The Prince an...
