Re: New Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie

Ah, those heady days of 1990. Eastman and Laird had no idea where their creations might go!

Well, then there's this. Looks more definitive now.

Re: Man of Steel, Justice League and DC MOVIES

Well, simply nothing planned yet. That could conceivably change, but we shall see. Looks like Superman is not a priority. Too bad. I'd like to see a MoS 2, pitting Cavill against Brainiac. It is really hard to judge Cavill, due to the material. He came off quite stiff and stoic, but we saw glimpses ...

Re: New Popular Film Oscar

Right. I only go to the theatre if it's a big event SpFX film (or if my wife drags me out on date night to see a rom-com). Anything else I can just see at home. Of course, I have a nice home theatre, though not as nice as Ben's.

It's a nice forum, but it's the six of us. We're the Cheers bar.

Re: DC comics streaming service to start September 15

I'm interested in this due to the Titans and other new live action shows, but it won't launch in Canada. :( I suppose some of the new stuff will hit Blu-ray from Warner Archive at some point, or at least one hopes.

If the service offered all Walt-era films and Wonderful World of Disney, I'd be all over it.

Re: Netflix "trying out" commercials in front of shows

I admit that I didn't read the original story (until now). Yeah, it seems like a lot of griping over nothing. Entitlement strikes again. (Though I also dislike the credits shrinking away into a little box; but no biggie.)

Ugh. Not a deal-breaker, and perhaps inevitable, but unfortunate.

Re: The DOCTOR WHO Thread

Amazon.ca was having Doctor Who DVD sales a few years ago, just when I was getting into the franchise (finally). I grabbed loads of them when they could be had relatively cheaply, and now I have a DVD case full of classic Who, containing most of the available stories. I'm glad I got them (including ...

Yeah, it's either they get Pine or forget the whole thing. Poor form on Panny's part.

Re: The DOCTOR WHO Thread

I would enjoy reading these, though that applies to many shelves of books already at my house!

For online book sales, one must look at bookfinder.com. They list books from multiple online sellers. I found the rare Doctor Who Companion there (another Who must! ).

Aw, that's sad. We all knew of her mental health issues, but it's tragic that they took her down this road.
