Re: AV XV: Views at 15

As for ex-ToD forum members, nope, looks like Randall from SaskaTOON doesn't show up here lately, or at least he's long since switched that weird Flintstones avatar he used to use. (But then, since I posted it, it's probably wrong--Here, I'll eyeroll for you: :?: :? ) I never was familiar wi...

Re: AV XV: Views at 15

I used to visit AM every freaking day (I was an addict). I don't think they had a forum, but I could be wrong. Also, wasn't the old DVD review site you guys had (which I was never a part of) called DVD Toons or something? I'd read the reviews there but was never a writer. Yes, a few of us from DVDt...

Re: Article on all the Disney live action remakes of animated classics

Yeah, these films feel pretty pointless to me. A better idea would be to take a mediocre animated film, and reimagine it into something better, rather than remake a classic. Cinderella was blah. I hated Beauty and the Beast. 101 Dalmatians was weird and uninteresting. Pete's Dragon was just so-so, b...

Re: Superman

Fathom Events gonna do theatrical runs of Superman: The Movie to celebrate the film's 40th (as well as the character's 80th). Fathom Events has three nights planned for the film: Nov. 25, Nov. 27, and Dec. 3. They list the run time at 2 hr 35 min, so that sounds like the 2000 extended version. Thes...

Re: Superman

Have you guys gotten any of the Atomic Age and Silver Age Sunday Pages Superman books? If so, how are they? I have two Atomic Age Sundays volumes, but I haven't read them yet. I love the Wayne Boring art, though. The stories look to be of the silly fantasy variety. Overall, for me, this was not Sup...

Re: Superman

I have heard that True Brit is awful. Let me know if you find it otherwise.

Good picks, otherwise.

Obviously, in case you hadn't noticed yet, you are in the company of some Superman lovers. :)

Re: X-Men Movies Thread

What, messy continuity in the X-Men films?

The trailer ain't bad, but it's still not the REAL Dark Phoenix story. Still, doesn't mean the movie can't be good.

Ah, those heady days of 1990. Eastman and Laird had no idea where their creations might go!

Re: Man of Steel, Justice League and DC MOVIES

Well, simply nothing planned yet. That could conceivably change, but we shall see. Looks like Superman is not a priority. Too bad. I'd like to see a MoS 2, pitting Cavill against Brainiac. It is really hard to judge Cavill, due to the material. He came off quite stiff and stoic, but we saw glimpses ...

Re: New Popular Film Oscar

Right. I only go to the theatre if it's a big event SpFX film (or if my wife drags me out on date night to see a rom-com). Anything else I can just see at home. Of course, I have a nice home theatre, though not as nice as Ben's.

It's a nice forum, but it's the six of us. We're the Cheers bar.
