Re: AV 2011 Oscar Contest

Oh dear... That is what you get for just kinda not having a clue and filling the ballot in randomly. Still, that is kinda embarrassing :P

Re: Animation cell/Production cell the same thing?

Ok, thanks? I did google, but I couldn't find an answer right away, and since I was pressed for time I figured I'd ask here. But fair enough, if this is not a community for questions I will refrain from asking them.

Animation cell/Production cell the same thing?

Ok, since nobody knows the answer to my original question below, here is another one without starting a new thread. You sometimes see production cells and animation cells from cartoons being sold on Ebay. From the looks of it they are the same thing, can anyone confirm this? Also, I always assume th...

Re: WB Archive Collection: DVDs On Demand!

Huh. How did I miss that? Thanks for pointing it out :) EDIT: After checking amazon.co.uk I found there is going to be a PAL release January 31st, so I'll see what that brings first I think. EDIT 2: TVShowsOnDVD just retweeted that "Yogi Bear and the Magical Flight of the Spruce Goose" and "Yogi and...

Re: I wish there were more animation music soundtracks!

Ok, I have been trying to find a thread for this... I think this one will suffice. Sometimes its hard to decide whether its better to start a new thread or drag an existing one from the grave. I am quite happy, I just managed to find a near mint "Evergreen Nights" vinyl from Lisa Lougheed. For those...

Re: WB Archive Collection: DVDs On Demand!

http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/Yogi-Bear-Yogis-Great-Escape/14744 Yogi's great escape is coming. Excellent! I hope they keep them coming! I'd especially be happy with The Good, The Bad and Huckleberry Hound, Hey there it's Yogi Bear! and Yogi Bear and the Magical Flight of the Spruce Goose. I'd a...

Animals of Farthing Wood and Animaniacs are pretty high up. Earthworm Jim has one of my favourite cartoon characters ever (Peter Puppy), and Eek! the cat (aka Eekstravaganza!) was just an awesome show in general, next to having Sharky the sharkdog. Bucky O'Hare had a great intro and was fun to watch...

Re: Favorite 80's Cartoon?

Two 3-DVD boxed sets of The Raccoons TV series have been released by Morningstar Entertainment. I think they were only distributed in Canada. They are rather 'pricey' .. and (unfortunately) are now 'out-of-print'. They also only contain 18 episodes of the show, which is less than half the total pro...

Re: The quote game!

This game looks interesting. May I politely suggest somebody else takes a turn? Should the current quoter return I am sure it won't be a problem to give him/her ehm... him/hers turn then.

Re: Favorite 80's Cartoon?

I have fond memories of Babar and Kissyfur (I have two Dutch VHS tapes of Kissyfur, would dearly love a DVD release), but my favourite show from the 80's is without a doubt The Raccoons. One of my favourite animated shows in general.

Re: Most underrated animated movie

I kind of want to mention the David Copperfield movie from 1993, which perhaps is not so much underrated as not that well known I think. Problem is though, voice acting can add or take a lot from a movie and in my opinion the Dutch voice actors do a better job then the American ones for this movie, ...

Re: WB Archive Collection: DVDs On Demand!

Hmm. Do they have the right to Road Rovers? That's a show a lot of people are waiting for (myself included).

My number one show I want to see released is Earthworm Jim, but that seems extremely unlikely. Apparently a copyright nightmare. (And WB doesn't have the rights anyway, as far as I know.)

Re: The New DVD Thread

Well, so far I have seen two other studio Gibli movies. Spirited Away witch I found watchable but not much more, and Howl's Moving Castle which was way to weird for me. I don't know if they were both from Miyazaki or not, regardless, I am unlikely to ever go out of my way to see any anime.

Whilst at the supermarket I saw Ponyo. Now, as a general rule I try to stay away from anime. Its is not really my thing and usually there are to many things in an anime that annoy me to enjoy it. This is especially so for series. However, I saw Ponyo a while ago and actually enjoyed it, so I decided...
