Re: Festive wishes for the season!

As a sentiment expressed in many cartoons over the year: Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

Re: Disney's Tangled

SZWG , okay, you want to see more diversity. But even though Walt wanted to move forward, that was mostly with technology and techniques. He returned to the fairy tale genre, or the classic literature genre, time and time again, and didn't do any wacky, twisted versions of them (like Princess and t...

Re: Boom comics brings Chip and dale rescue rangers back to life

But does Disney have plans of starting their own comics line through Disney Press? Or, um, I don't know.... Marvel? Well, yes, of course Marvel. I don't think Spider-Man and Mickey Mouse are going to be hanging out in New York anytime soon. I'm thinking of the Disney and Pixar characters and The Mu...

Re: Toy Story 3

I think there was a small resurgence in the 1990s. I remember seeing a lot of it on cereal boxes, comic books, and Nickelodeon had some NIck Toons in 3D for awhile. It was a marketing gimmick. Most of the these movies are not worth the price to see them in 3D. Coraline was a great example. There is ...

Re: Tangled (Formerly Rapunzel)

I didn't know anything about that picture or that artist. Thank you for sharing that gorgeous picture. I'll cede the point about Rapunzel traditionally having long, golden hair. I just enjoy seeing characters in story lines that aren't typical of your everyday cartoon/animated movie. The Princess an...

Re: Tangled (Formerly Rapunzel)

The French also had unnecessary consonants, just because they look pretty.

"Parley?! D*** to the depths whatever man thought of "parley!"

"That would be the French."

Hehehe!

Re: Toy Story 3

3-D will fade away, then it will come back, fade away, then come back, fade away, then come back. It comes back at least once every decade.

By the time it comes around next decade, we'll all have 3-D TVs and movie theaters may be obsolete. Scary thought.

Re:

Even the GM Toons logo is a rip-off! ;) Actually, though, this is all totally legit. Because Belle's dress is blue and this one is, like, pink, and Gaston's shirt is red, but this one is absolutely blue. So no copyright infringement there... ;) Check out Happy2doo.com for more: How about Aladdin: h...

Re:

I think only the actual trailer and television spots are the big sellers of films. I mean, what little kids and soccer moms will actually see all internet videos? And if you ask me, the trailer was, although almost good...rather, a fail. SZWG , she is actually one of the skinner princesses, almost ...

Re: Boom comics brings Chip and dale rescue rangers back to life

Disney has been pulling a lot of their outsourced comic book contracts lately, i.e. Tokyopop and Slave Labor Graphics. I wonder if they will do the same thing to Boom. I hope they don't, since they do a great job. But does Disney have plans of starting their own comics line through Disney Press?

Re: Tangled (Formerly Rapunzel)

What I find interesting is that Disney had a big media campaign about introducing Tiana that first African American princess. Now their newest film goes back to the stereotypical blonde character design. I will say she has a bit more baby fat on her and she is more adventurous than other princesses,...

Re: Roger Rabbit Sequel?

But Disney is such a powerhouse now, why would they need to work with characters form other companies again? One of the reasons Roger Rabbit was successful was due to the inclusion of the Warner Brothers pantheon (not that any child under the age of ten knows who they are anymore). To the 1980s audi...

Re: Anime Decline... Japanese Industry in Big Trouble!

Then is it probable to say that there will be a decline in anime sometime in the future in the future? Anime is relatively still a new subculture, but will the novelty wear off? I see anime as the reason why there has been a high release of animated feature films in the past few years. If anime goes...
