Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+

Re: Forum Update 2019

Very cool! . Along with the new blog-like look of News and Views, the site is looking great! :o. (Although I was a BIT disoriented at first. Lol. :P)

Re: YouTube Goodness

Interesting. Those "films" always look so incredibly hideous to me...but nothing can top the vomit-inducing Ratatoing. And wow, that other movie...gee, I've always wondered what a crossover with Over the Hedge, Flushed Away, A Bug's Life and Ratatouille would look like. :| (Apparently quite ...

Movie interpolation: 60 frames per second vs. 24

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWq4RjeAVXU I've heard about this technique quite a few times but this is the first time I've actually seen what it looks like. The funny thing is that when I first read about it, I was SURE I was going to absolutely hate it. But seeing it now I actually like it a lo...

Re: Official Star Wars Thread

Oh my gosh when I posted the link to the anti-JJ essay on the other thread, I didn't even realize the Ep IX trailer would come out today! Just for the record, I enjoyed TFA a lot, although I personally prefer TLJ. I really only posted the link because I thought it might start an interesting convo. :...

Interesting essay on The Force Awakens

The writer (a huge and very knowledgeable sci-fi geek) absolutely hated it, but he does go into a lot of detail about why. (FYI: written prior to Last Jedi’s release.)

Really nothing to add here; Ben, you summarized it PERFECTLY.

(And TOTALLY agree about Irons. :? )

Re: X-Men Movies Thread

Oh jeez...I kinda figured. :? https://www.indiewire.com/2019/04/kevin-feige-long-time-x-men-marvel-cinematic-universe-1202057131/ The truth is, I always had this feeling, before and after the Fox merger, that Disney really wasn’t all that interested in acquiring X-Men to begin with. (Especially beca...

Re: The Twilight Zone

Yeah, I see what you’re saying, Ben. It is definitely a different experience with viewing film compared to video. (Although I think Serling did try out the video format with a few episodes: I know “Long Distance Call”, with the toy telephone, was one. It was ok, but I’m really glad they went back to...

Re: The Twilight Zone

Very cool, Daniel!! MAJOR 12-year-bump! :) :). I like that you did that. I’m actually a STAUNCH original TZ fan...might have seen a bit of the 80s one here and there throughout my life, but I just never took to it for some reason. :? Not trying to put it down or anything—I’m sure it was a great show...

Re: Toy Story 4

Yeah, I definitely agree that there’s something not quite right about Woody’s voice: a.) it just doesn’t sound “strong” enough, sort of like Hanks was sick/had a sore throat or something, but more than that: the rich, vibrant quality of Woody speaking just isn’t there. (As Ben said, sort of like a H...

Re: YouTube Goodness

This might seem a bit insane but for some reason I've always loved the last scene of Batman and Robin (well, except the VERY last part LOL). Everything feels so much more natural and the actors actually seem to have a bit of chemistry together. Plus Michael Gough could NEVER give a bad performance, ...

New trailer looks very sweet and surprisingly dramatic! I’m excited! (And yeah it definitely does seem like many tears will be shed. )

Re: YouTube Goodness

OK, just want to say right off the bat that this is NOT a real movie. But it's d*** convincing, at first I was definitely fooled by it! :) (Fresh Prince of Bel Air as a gritty coming-of-age drama called "Bel Air".)
