Pixar
I really agree with Ben and George C. The problem (well, if you see it as a problem) is that Pixar is REALLY conservative and stoic about their "forumla" and that it stays within parameters (more or less) with every film. This can be good as well as bad. They don't like taking too many risks, which ...

Benny
Also don't forget Benny the cab in Roger Rabbit!
Except his eyes were the headlights (otherwise how could Eddie ride him??) Now THAT was some cool special effects.

train
Also not to be mean or pick on this movie even more, but the picture and especially the teaser made me think of that British show with the talking train or caboose or whatever it is. I forget the name. I know that the technology is tons better than that, but the look seems kind of similar.

I really liked hearing that "Bug's Life" music tho. I really loved that film. It's the last one that Lassetter directed....Now he's got another shot. Liked hearing Owen Wilson's voice: he was the original Kuzco I think! Still i agree with Ben about teasers....they tell you a lot and they basically r...

Ha ha. That's really cute. Also I like your signature. Thanks! I appreciate that. Actually- and I promise I am not just saying this to be polite- I was admiring your signature earlier today. And I think it's especially cool how we both have Jeffrey Katzenberg avatars (just kidding!). Seriously, tho...

I'm also shocked Sky Captain wasn't nominated, if that isn't nominated, then The Polar Express shouldn't be either. Just as a note, these 11 films have not been nominated, these are the 11 that are elegible to be nominated. -Michael PS: If the Red Sox could win a World Series after 86 years losing,...

Any chance for either Incredibles or Shrek 2 to get a Best Picture nomination? IMO it's POSSIBLE. Shrek 2 got so many great reviews, plus it made tons and tons of money. Incredibles will no doubt do the same. They will both be very popular movies, and very popular movies often get nominated. Plus, I...

"I totally agree with Ben. Everyone kneels at the least little thing Pixar does, and criticizes Disney and DreamWorks left and right. I will admit that Pixar's previous films have been excellent. However, Pixar could announce that they are making Paint Drying: The Movie!, starring Bob Saget and Vani...

How do you know this is true? It could be the other way around. After all, SharkTale was in development before Nemo.CoryMitchell wrote:Ripping off Pixar again. The tradition continues.

reality
Also I totally agree with what Ben said about believable/non-believable worlds. It can't just be cute or funny, but (at least) remotely plausible from a logic point of view. If the cars are like people then how can people ride in them? How can the cars have an impact on the plot when it's the people...

Pixar/cars
Just saw this at the site link, and not that impressed. This is the first Pixar film that doesn't exist in a "believable" world. I mean, the Toy Stories had moving toys in an everday world, Bug's Life had insects in an everyday world, Monsters were imaginary characters that lived in THEIR everyday ...

Animation is looked on as a sub lower class film genre. Every other film technique can go over 90 minutes without any complain save animation. There is nothing wrong with an animated film running over 90 minutes if it takes longer to tell the story. Atlantis and Prince of Egypt are both films that ...

The Incredibles is the first traditional animated film of it's length that has a story. The Incredibles isn't "traditional" - it's CGI! ;) I have to say that, whatever you think, Fantasia IS counted by all and sundry as an animated film, albeit an anthology one, but it is the longest out there. I a...
