Re: The Simpsons

That’s amazing that you found him; I’ll have to look harder. It just goes so fast lol.

But I did find Rabbi Krustofsky in the Kwik-E-Mart! :)

Re: The Simpsons

Awww. Yeah, it does. :) ;)

Btw, did anyone happen to notice where Gil was? Not sure where I should look. I know he’s not really a major character but he was in a lot of episodes.

Yes, Pat Carroll said in an interview that she based so much of Poor Unfortunate Souls on Ashman’s original performance.

Re: Disney's The Little Mermaid (Live-Action)

—“But on the whole I’ve been a Saiiiiiiiiiiint!” As Dan said, way too much emphasis on “Saint”. :? That makes it seem like the song is all about Ursula thinking she’s a Saint and no one appreciating this. It’s not: it’s supposed to fool Ariel, nothing more. —I don’t mind Eric seeing Ariel as a means...

And before Eric says Treasure Planer, the question was "these days", although The Little Mermaid is a bad example: Farerb is right in that Ron 'n' John have never made a "crap" movie.
(And before Eric says "Princess & the Frog"... )
Princess was heavily supervised by Lasetter.

Re: Disney's The Little Mermaid (Live-Action)

“They weren’t kidding when they called me, well…a witch.” Not crazy about how this was put together. The pause is just too long, and even though the original film did the same unsaid-play-on-words thing, it didn’t ADVERTISE what that actual “word” WAS. Just like many of the other faster paced songs ...

Re: Disney's The Little Mermaid (Live-Action)

But hey, let's cut it and Fathoms Below (which sets up beautifully the upper world view on mermaids) just so we can irritate the audience into waiting for the first song to appear in a musical. The argument Menken gives, is basically the equivalent of cutting Arabian Nights and One Jump Ahead becau...

Re: Disney's The Little Mermaid (Live-Action)

Yes, that was actually quite awful. Both Ariel and Eric have those “enraptured” (and very bland looking) expressions on their faces but only when noticing the nature around them. Not each other. And Sebastian’s truly ugly design doesn’t help. :? It was also a very weird decision to have BOTH Ariel a...

Interview on the issue of revising film because of changing culture/societal taste: https://www.theguardian.com/film/2023/apr/26/steven-spielberg-et-guns-movie-edit Interesting how he now feels that editing the scenes of E.T. by replacing the guns with walkie talkies was a big mistake. EDIT: Oops, i...

Re: The Muppets

That was actually pretty cute as a whole, but Matt’s Kermit voice wasn’t so great at the end. :? (OK, he almost sounded mobster-like.)

Kermit’s “softness” that we had with both Jim and Steve is, as far I can see, almost totally gone.
