Re: Disney's Aladdin (Live-Action)

Yeah, but look on the bright side: this should make some great : “I can’t believe they ACTUALLY made that!” fodder decades from now (a la Star Wars Christmas Special). And yes, Rand, “inert” is the perfect way of describing this! Looks like a TV movie. Actually, it looks like one of those liv...

Re: Lady and the Tramp (Live-Action)

Oh of course, that’s right. :) I couldn’t remember her name in the movie, and I knew Peggy Lee did the voice/singing, so I figured her character was also named Peggy. Really, it’s a great song. I just can’t understand the rationale in cutting it. The result of all this deleting/censoring of t...

Re: Lady and the Tramp (Live-Action)

Oh right, I guess it’s because Tramp is kind of a “womanizer”, and Peggy sings about how she loves and needs him regardless? Yeah, I can definitely see how that’s offensive. I mean why should any character in a Disney film be three-dimensional and nuanced? I simply can’t even imagine how damaged lit...

Re: Article on all the Disney live action remakes of animated classics

Yes, this IS an actual thing: December 23, 2020 – Cruella A live-action remake of an animated film that already had a pretty close live action remake. This makes those direct-to-video “cheapquels” from 15 years ago look like The Little Mermaid. (And not the one that’s coming out in like two y...

Re: Forum Update 2019

OMG I remember your old av Dan! :). Takes me back as well. :) Anyway, on the forum’s new look: Clean, simple lines. Minimalist design. Soothing, cool background colors (like the front page/Views.) Not like a blog comments section, but somehow captures the more “cozy” quality of one without sacrifici...

Re: Lady and the Tramp (Live-Action)

Wow. I mean—WOW. I understand that many might be offended by these images, but that was a different time and the Siamese cats are a VITAL part of the story. Regardless of how you feel about him, Walt Disney was a singular genius who (with the help of of other brilliant artists) not only tran...

Re: Disney's Christopher Robin

Yeah, I’m sort of leaning that way too. And lots of times years and years go by “without incident” because the perpetrator is very good at hiding his behavior from public view. That’s basically second nature to an offender and one of the main reasons they get away with the damage they do. It’s just ...

Re: Wonder Showzen

OMG this show! It was just so sick. :? But honestly I don’t even care all that much about all that gross stuff anymore, I know that kind of humor does appeal to some, so whatever. MY REAL PROBLEM when I first started this thread (what was it, like 15 years ago! 😳) is still my problem now...it was EX...

Re: The Lion King Remake

Kinda funny how they refer to the new film as a “re-imagining.” From the look of the trailer, it really didn’t seem as though a whole lot of “imagination” was involved.

Re: Disney's Aladdin (Live-Action)

That’s true. :). At least they’re trying for some form of novelty. And I also like her voice. Unfortunately, I’m also getting a “She is more than this” Princess and the Cobbler/Arabian Knight vibe. That’s the last film Disney should want to even remotely emulate. :| (AK was actually a mangled versio...
