Re: Shrek reboot

My first reaction was basically  , but honestly, even though I guess it still sort of exists within the framework of Universal, I’ve lost interest in DWA since JK left with the acquisition. It’s not DreamWorks anymore and never will be. From what Ben has said, it definitely seems like the pow...

Re: New Disney Streaming Service (Disney Play)

Everything that’s known about Disney Play so far: what’s on it, what’s not on it, etc...(Still no word about whether classic shorts/films/Mickey Mouse Club etc...will make an appearance. :( )

Wow! Interesting comments from Hanks. I have to admit my interest is piqued. :)

Re: X-Men Movies Thread

I realize we’ve already debated quite a few times how every single X-movie stacks up, but I thought this was kinda interesting, if only for the fact that First Class is actually ranked ahead of DOFP and X-2*. (No offense to FC fans! I’ve seen it a considerable amount of times and always get a...

Re: J.J. Abrams' "Star Trek"

Interesting interview with Jonathan Frakes (who’s already directed several episodes of Star Trek: Discovery as well as Seth MacFarlane’s The Orville) about Discovery, Orville, as well as the possibility of Quentin Tarantino directing the next Star Trek reboot film. It was apparently Abrams’ idea, wh...

Re: YouTube Goodness

I think I posted this vid years ago, but it’s just so cute! It’s basically the promos on the Batman 89 VHS, one Diet Coke commercial with Alfred/Michael Gough, plus an ad for a 900 number you have to call just to send for a catalog that you need in order to order Batman movie merchandise. Lol...

Re: Article on all the Disney live action remakes of animated classics

Just ugh. Poor Terry. :( https://screenrant.com/aladdin-movie-writer-disney-live-action-remake/ I actually used to read his blog on the business of writing for animation (and writing screenplays in general) years ago...he’s really awesome. Funny too! :). Some of his (and his writing partner T...

Re: Article on all the Disney live action remakes of animated classics

Just wanted to comment on the trailer for the Aladdin remake: (wasn’t sure if we had a thread yet or not, plus I kind of wanted to address the subject of formerly animated films in general): I really wasn’t impressed by it. :? Sure it looked great, but there was NOTHING novel or even remotely origin...

Re: Animated Views 2018 Revamp

Just wanted to say on the large print reviews...thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!! :) :) I love and have always loved the reviews on “Views”, but the smaller print always made them somewhat challenging to really read/absorb. This is so so so much better, once again, thank you so much!!! :o.

Re: AV XV: Views at 15

Yay! :). I can’t even express how wonderful it’s always been to hang out here! Unlike pretty much every fansite/forum out there (animation or not) not only has learning about/keeping up with animation been extremely fulfilling, but the kind and open environment really doesn’t compare to most website...

Re: New Disney Streaming Service (Disney Play)

New on-line remake/tv show of High Fidelity (the John Cusack movie, which is excellent btw) on Disney Play to premiere in about a year from now. Except the Cusack character will now be a woman. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/zoe-kravitz-star-high-fidelity-tv-series-disney-streaming-serv...

Re: X-Men Movies Thread

First Dark Pheonix trailer (opening 2/19), finally. :? https://youtu.be/QvpYp11Q7fA Not sure how I feel. It actually looks pretty cool, but the plot is all over the place as far as continuity. It completely contradicts the previous “trilogy” with the new actors by having Jean first meet Charles as a...

Re: J.J. Abrams' "Star Trek"

WatchMojo video about the best TOS/TNG/Abrams Trek films...

https://youtu.be/XtoQxHFLWoI

Basically, they twice mix up footage from different TOS films (ie: Kirk’s eulogy from 2 as part of 3).
