Re: Upcoming animated films calendar and date changes

I'm up for another Trolls. With our new home theater up and runnng, we've started going back over the last few years of animated films I've bought but never watched, last night's being Penguins Of Madagascar. Yeah, it was a slice of fun, but not anything DWA needs to make another sequel to. When wil...

Re: The Star

Ouch.

Even the Henson Co, which initiated this project, doesn't bother to have its logo on the front. And I love how Sony's back credit contribution is limited to Cloudy, possibly as a way to offer some kind of explanation for the cartoony visuals.

As said before...just poor. :(

Re: Sing

Ah...what was the title that you didn't read the review on because you wanted to see it? Thought it was that one (or some others)? I just thought it was amusing that (most) people all found it to be the same: something quite lovely and brilliant but that was totally unexpected from how how it was ma...

Re: Upcoming animated films calendar and date changes

Maybe they should just release Peter on that date and let it die a quick and painless death, or just not release it at all? ;)

Not really my cup of tea, but impressive visuals in there for sure. :)

Re: The Lego Ninjago Movie

Doesn't look like this new Ninjago (awkward word!) Movie is going to change my mind about the franchise in general, going by James' review. Perhaps the inevitable case of saturation and diminishing returns will wake WB up to the fact that they need a proper animation unit capable of more than just m...

Re: Upcoming animated films calendar and date changes

If it was anywhere near ready for its release date then it would have been in animation by now, most likely with the Ferdinand team. My guess is that it's either been recorded but continues to be rejigged (hence being pushed once already) or that it's privately never got past the story reels and the...

Re: Peter Rabbit (2018)

I think the estate of Beatrix Potter has made it clear that they don't care about the quality of her legacy with that awful Nickelodeon series they licensed a while back. At least Peter is actually English this time, even if it is bland man-of-the-moment and zero-nuance voice "talent" Cord...

Re: Ferdinand

- Tom Hanks' Playtone did actually make The Ant Bully. - You totally didn't get my reference in saying you don't have a child. - No one starts out hoping to make a mediocre or disappointing movie. They're all great on the page and in the planning, back when everyone is excited. And then you make the...

Re: Ferdinand

If anything the more I see of this the closer in feel to Walt's 1938 take it seems, which is why the initial trailer surprised me in being contemporary set. It's like they can't outwardly say this is a new version of the short, but subconsciously the posters invoke that connection without being able...

Re: Peter Rabbit (2018)

As a huge fan of Beatrix Potter from, like basically, before I could properly read (and having it, as with so many British kids, wired into our DNA), I was so worried they would **** this up. And, yeah. They have so truly and royally ****** Peter Rabbit with this. Potter must be turning in her grave...

Re: Man of Steel, Justice League and DC MOVIES

The Donner Cut is now pretty redundant what with this coming out. The theatrical is the best cut, save for the "gauntlet" that Superman has to get through to get to Luther (yes, he already knows that fire and bullets can't hurt this guy, but he still has a try and we enjoy the results! Tha...
