Re: The John Lasseter saga

We only had one genuine Lasseter-led project in the first few years of Disney's 00's Renaissance, but the '11 "Winnie the Pooh" probably wouldn't have caught fire, Harry Potter or not. You’re still forgetting that Princess And The Frog was not a rescue job...that was the first "Lasse...

Re: The John Lasseter saga

No, it’s the same Skydance that sometimes co-finances Paramount's slate, including the last two Missions, but they are basically a silent funding partner: any director and casting choices are made by producer Tom Cruise on those films. The relatively new Skydance Animation is a self-funded, independ...

Re: YouTube Goodness

Re: Abrams Live action remake of "Your Name"

Saw this a couple of years ago...the only way I can see it working for broad American audiences is to make it a sci-fi comedy, which would kind of kill what worked about it...

Re: Disney Movie Rewards

Yeah, I’ve been checking back each day and adding the new codes without any problems, usually at five points each. Didn’t get the roundup DMR email yet though. Note that as of last night you could still redeem some Crimbo discs for half points. Not much there, but if you feel a need to get the Zemec...

Re: Man of Steel, Justice League and DC MOVIES

I will bet they’re hoping Aquaman will deliver THIS December. Why would they wait until next December...!? Basically, WB have woken up to the fact that they own a bunch of properties that could do for them what Disney is doing with their remakes. Most of what you listed above has already been announ...

Re: YouTube Goodness

Dace..."Papergirl"...? ;) Vi...was quite impressed how they did kind of know most of those songs, even the earliest ones; the scores didn’t always tally with what they knew even if they couldn’t name it. Kind of does show how the reissue and remake plan does make those old films new again....
