Re: Dora the Explorer Live Action trailer. Dora with a knife!

Nick Stoller and James Bobin are surprise names on this, which gives it a different level of interest. Seems it could be derivative fun. :)

Re: Disney's Christopher Robin

...and you look so young for 137! ;) I agree on Pooh, Dacey. I don’t think I’ve gone back and watched the 2011 movie since it came out. I’ve even seen Tigger and Piglet's movies more often! I liked the new Pooh voices, which were occasionally different but more in keeping with the live/period settin...

Re: Toy Story 4

Biggest "non-Easter egg" on the poster? A lack of one executive producer's name... While it’s obvious why he’s not there, it’s also something of a surprise since he was certainly attached to this, first as director, then as exec producer, so I’m betting some complicated behind the scenes n...

Re: X-Men Movies Thread

Well by no means do I accept that in terms of Marvel. Feige has everything mapped out and knows the direction of the MCU for the next decade, no matter what marketing will have us believe for Endgame. It’s Star Wars that had no plan after ripping up the Lucas playboook and...um...not replacing it wi...

Re: YouTube Goodness

Almost as scary as the film (and its weird remake!) is the fact you brought this up just as one of our movie nights this week is...Psycho! The original, natch.

The whole MCU is about to get rebooted, so they can introduce mutants when and however they want... ;)

Re: X-Men Movies Thread

You know...Apocalypse really didn’t do the series any favors. It’s a shame this didn’t happen in its place and maybe finish that run off properly. (Then again, I’m pleased with Logan basically ending the original line, frankly. The closer the First Class cast came to catching the OT cast up the less...

Re: Article on all the Disney live action remakes of animated classics

I think the thing with Beauty was that it was quaint enough to see a "cartoon come to life" on stage back then, but by the time of Lion King they knew they couldn’t just replicate the movie every time. I’ve seen LK on Broadway, Rand, but am eager to see what the London version is like. Or ...

I actually love how every single Tim Burton movie has Michael Keaton in it.

Re: Article on all the Disney live action remakes of animated classics

Said it before and will say it again... These remakes are the modern equivalent of the old reissue scheme. It’s as simple as that. When was the last time Dumbo got any love? This spring and summer he’ll be everywhere...he’ll be the big gift at Christmas, and a major part of why people will pick up a...

Re: Disney's Christopher Robin

We loved this at our screening last Friday evening, it was sweet as Pooh's Hunny! Such a shame they didn’t get behind this more as it was so much better than A Wrinkle In Time, or other "lesser A pictures". Indeed, I just saw Wrinkle, too, and couldn’t believe how amateur it felt as a movi...
