Re: Most Underrated Disney Character?

I changed "the Sourceror" [sic] to his real name, Yensid. I guess he’s so overlooked that some people didn’t even realise he has a name...and a cool one at that! So I voted for him, anyhoo. :)

Re: New Popular Film Oscar

Kind of all what I said a fair few posts back. But with the cost of movies, I think people go for spectacle rather than what they know they’re going to like. I mean, that’s the *hope*, but so many times we hear the "that wasn’t as good as I thought it was going to be" complaint. That said,...

Re: Incredibles 2

Isn’t he late to the party? I thought Coco broke the doomed Pixar scenario, with almost no-one anywhere that I read taking the view that the studio had taken a step back by releasing an Incredibles sequel. Indeed, the popular opinion was that - if it was even mentioned at all - this was Pixar's best...

Re: DC comics streaming service to start September 15

And this, ultimately, is why online/streaming sucks. You don’t own anything, not even the right to access what you signed up for. Same with these new services, which will no doubt "retire" certain titles as and when they have new promotions, or possibly even remove them completely for what...

Re: New Disney Streaming Service (Disney Play)

Exactly. When DisneyLife was launched here I got excited because I figured they'd open the vaults to "proper" Disney stuff like the Disneyland and Wonderful World Of Disney (pre-1990-ish) programs. Until that’s the case, I have every single Disney title I could want on some kind of home vi...

Re: Netflix "trying out" commercials in front of shows

Okay, so this is really just trailing other shows, between episodes, and can be skipped? Where’s the problem!? I’m more peeved that I only get five seconds to find the remote and have to manually revert to fullscreen when the credits of anything come up because they want to shove other content in my...

Re: New Popular Film Oscar

It’s always been that way, though. No-one was complaining, other than Spielberg himself, when those kinds of films were making huge coinage but got little love at the Oscars. It’s long been observed that their "reward" is the amount of money those films take home (and let’s not forget that...

Re: New Popular Film Oscar

Bill essentially makes the points I made in my lost post. There is another angle, too: back in the day, before audiences chose just to eat the big, calorific but empty blockbuster meals, they also used to make the "less popular" films massive hits as well. So in 1982, you had something lik...

Re: Avengers and the MCU

It was kind of rhetorical...just ribbing over the bizarre Richard Parker (not the tiger) stuff in the (not-so) Amazing movies. ;)
