Re: YouTube Goodness

....what? :? You're telling me you don't remember three solid years of THIS?? Yes, CN had its little tantrum, and got all the bad old reruns off its network, now it's time to repair the cultural damage it inflicted on an entire generation of cartoon watchers that grew up believing that the ...

Re: YouTube Goodness

You're welcome... (Yes, I hate Warner/DC too, but has Cartoon Network's pathological loathing of Hanna-Barbera so psychologically indoctrinated an early-00's generation to consider Aquaman a crime against humanity, by mandatory law? You've got Aquaman jokes coming from people too young to have ever...

Re: Abrams Live action remake of "Your Name"

Just got the Blu-ray, after hearing all the hype. Lord knows when I'll get around to watching it... The original? It's..... okay , but seems to have done most of its business on the fact that most adult mainstream Japanese don't want to be seen watching anime series (that's for nasty otaku , who si...

1981: Leonard Nimoy demonstrates the Magnavision LaserDisc Player by somehow communicating with a beeping rock that apparently works for Magnavox! (And you know it's the future , because his CRT tube set is 23"!) Ah, the naive early days when movies in your home! was considered its own market...

You didn't see it back in the thread where James asked "WHYYY+21 ??+8" about Universal doing an Illumination-owned Shrek reboot?
(To which the answer was also 'HOUSE FRANCHIIIIIIIIIIIIISE!!!")

WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY! It's the only major theatrically-released property the independent animation company OOOOOWWWWWNNNS!! (Which is why we also got Nut Job 2.) Also we'll also accept "LIONSGAAAAAAAATE!" as an answer, the only studio more desperate than Sony to develop a "house brand" out of whatever...

Re: Gi joe Snake eyes solo movie in the works!

Looks like someone at Paramount/Hasbro is counting all the "solo franchise spinoff" money "Bumblebee" hasn't made yet--
They're off the Transformers (and space-toys) for the moment, but there's still that Plan B of GI Joe & M.A.S.K. to try and pull Hasbro Films out of the fire.

Vi...was quite impressed how they did kind of know most of those songs, even the earliest ones; the scores didn’t always tally with what they knew even if they couldn’t name it. Kind of does show how the reissue and remake plan does make those old films new again...but I’ll bet most knew Bare Neces...

Re: Man of Steel, Justice League and DC MOVIES

I will bet they’re hoping Aquaman will deliver THIS December. Why would they wait until next December...!? (Are these nitpicks actually funny? Because on this end, they're sort of like conversational road-bumps, like King Arthur having to listen about swallows or autonomous collectives.) Basi...

Re: Man of Steel, Justice League and DC MOVIES

Or, basically: let’s go in the current zeitgeist direction of what sucked the least in the DCU... ;) At the moment, Warner is on their "Franchise Wave 2.0", as they've finally come to grips that their "Holy Trinity" of Batman, The Hobbit, and Harry Potter/Fantastic Beasts have at last burned themse...

Re: Article on all the Disney live action remakes of animated classics

I've never understood the appeal of these, either. :| To this day, the only one I've seen was Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland (which itself really came across as more of a live-action 'sequel' to the original story). Even though it was actually Disney's attempt to salvage that Wes Craven horror-mo...

Re: Wreck-It Ralph 2

I do have one minor quibble with this type of humor though. Will it age well? The many, many, many references to companies and memes and the like that are popular today may make this film feel embarrassingly dated in a few years. One thing I found dated: The "Princess scene" that the fans were mono...

Re: WB Archive Collection: DVDs On Demand!

Jerry Beck has indicated that this may our final chance to show support for a classic animation release from Warner Archive. We will only get further chances if this one sells. (He said the awesome Porky Pig set just broke even, which isn't good enough. :( ) So don't delay--- order NOW! :) I know t...
