Re: DreamWorks' "Home"
Woah! In a bit of a surprise twist, Home is looking like it could be a bit of a surprise hit! http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/box-office-home-takes-friday-784869 Obviously early numbers, but projections are up to $45 million for the weekend. If it even just did 3.8 times it's opening weekend, ...

Re: Disney's Frozen
Give BH6 a chance for a sequel. Frozen has taken over a year to be confirmed and BH6 is still on international rollout so they'll be a while before they get disc sales it, etc, and confirm that. But Frozen 2's announcement is pretty historic, opening the gates to a whole new truckload of Disney seq...

Re: Will Disney buy DWA?
One thing I'm still shocked about is that they just outright cancelled B.O.O. Considering it was just six months to it's release when they canned it, they had to have a good chunk of it animated by now; one would think they'd just delay it to October (the presence of ghosts in the movie could have m...

Re: Big Hero 6
Great review Ben! I will say, regarding to the future of these characters, Doctor Strange can go into alternate dimensions. Would it be out of the realm of possibility for him to find these six heroes in another realm and bring them (as CGI characters in a live-action environment like Rocket Raccoon...

Indiana Jones And The New Disney Movies Thread
A report came out last night saying Steven Spielberg is considering directing a potential Indiana Jones reboot that could star Chris Pratt. I doubt he'll actually do it, but I do think Pratt's a great choice to play Indy.

Re: 2015 Academy Awards
I'm thinking it's Dragon 2's to lose at this point, though Kaguya or Hero could easily swoop in and take the prize as well.

Re: X-Men Movies Thread
I reeeeeaaaaaaaaalllllllyyyyyy wanted Rose Byrne to play Clea in 2016's Doctor Strange movie, but I'm glad she's getting utilized here as well. It's funny how many people X-Men: First Class cast just before they hit the big time...Byrne, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult. Amusing...

Re: Fantastic Four
I dunno EricJ, Godzilla and x-Men: First Class turned out excellently in my book. Those two movies had distinct and qualities identities, which this Fantastic Four movie currently lacks. There's really nothing distinctive about this one currently, except for its overbearing dark tone.

Re: Ghostbusters III - OFFICIAL THREAD
I've got no problem with a female Version of Ghostbusters (more summer blockbusters should take note and create more compelling female roles as well), and that solid cast reinforces my optimism. Especially the talented Kristen Wiig!

Re: Fantastic Four
The trailer is so much like Interstellar, it's kinda mind-boggling.
It's not a bad trailer in my book, but goodness, it's pretty generic. Would have really loved to see the groups dynamic bouncing off each other rather than more generic dialogue about "something is coming".

Re: Strange Magic
You're very much right, it'll make the majority of it's cash during Saturday and Sunday. But having only made $1.3 million on Friday, it'll take a miracle to get past $6 million for the weekend. Like you yourself said, very unlikely for it to suddenly do better.

Re: Strange Magic
What does appear to be groundbreaking about the film is its box office performance which is unspeakably terrible. It's set to have a $4.5 million opening weekend after Fridays dismal numbers, which is the third worst opening ever for a film released in over 3000 theaters, and the worst debut for an ...
