Re: Animated Views Celebrity Obituary Thread

Peter Robbins, the voice of Charlie Brown in such specials as A Charlie Brown Christmas and It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown , passed away at 65. This was just reported by my local Fox affiliate as he's a resident of Carlsbad. According to his family, he committed suicide last week. Report with...

The Legend of Vox Machina

Setting this up here in anticipation for the series premiere. As a Kickstarter backer, I will get access to the first two episodes three days prior, so will try to get a review up and running before the premiere. 8) In the meantime, how about checking out the great video posted on the front revealin...

Re: Criterion Collection

The booklet for the blu ray will apparently also include excerpts from his book How to Create Cartoons.

Re: Criterion Collection

The April releases were announced. The two that stand out to me is a 4K upgrade to For All Mankind and the blu-ray release of The Girl Can't Help It, from former Looney Tunes director Frank Tashlin.

Re: Five favorite movie soundtracks EVER?

Since this is limited to movie scores, here's mine in no particular order:

- Joe Hisashi - Princess Mononoke
- Howard Shore - The Lord of the Rings Trilogy
- Hans Zimmer - The Lion King
- John Williams - Superman: The Movie
- James Horner - An American Tail

Re: Arcane

After much procrastination, I purchased a ticket for Secret Cinema, getting it for this past Saturday ahead of them ending the Arcane run. That was an absolute blast. It was quite fun essentially partaking in LARPing (live-action role playing) and the experience was so well put together that I had a...

Re: Titanic

Earlier this year during my Criterion blu ray tour (which I've got paused at the moment for obvious reasons), I watched A Night to Remember and then put on Titanic like a day or two after. It's quite interesting comparing the two.

Re: Arcane

So there's a thing that's on the rise that started in London called Secret Cinema. The idea being that it's a two hour immersive/interactive experience were attendees are encouraged to participate in the telling of the story. It's made it's way to Los Angeles and for the next few weeks they're doing...

Re: Animated Views Celebrity Obituary Thread

Was taken aback when I read he had passed while at Comic Con. It was even brought up at the tail end of Brent Spiner's spotlight panel as he was an original Broadway cast member Sunday in the Park with George. Spiner noted he had just heard about it in the middle of his autograph session and said in...

Re: Arcane

In addition to the series, Fortiche Production did a music video for the main theme "Enemy" that includes original animation and offers some insight into Jinx as Powder.
