Re: DC Universe
I was talking about the end of the movie - nothing credits related. My main issue is I am not a fan of George Clooney at all, so getting this uncredited cameo is not the attraction the studio was hoping it would be to get me into the cinema, it does the opposite. Plus getting the actor from the 'wor...

Re: DC Universe
After reading the plot on Wikipedia and reading how the movie ends, my desire to see the film went out the window. I understand (kinda) why they chose that path because the other option isn't really available. But out of every possible scenario they could have gone with they chose THAT one???

Wow that is a very quick turn around. Wasn't expecting it so soon.

Re: Disney Pixar's Elio
My first thought was it looks like a reverse Lilo & Stitch. And that's not a bad thing. I'm keen to see more and I enjoyed that it teased us the story without revealing the story. My only concern is that it's a space story, and while there are exceptions eg WALL-E, so many animated space stories are...

Re: Disney's The Little Mermaid (Live-Action)
I've been seeing a lot of behind-the-scenes footage for this movie and all I can think about is what's the point of making a live action adaptation when it relies so much on animation to exist, Kinda defeats the porpoise doesn't it when an animated version already exists.

Re: Disney's The Little Mermaid (Live-Action)
Reading those quotes James posted, I've learnt that I cannot simply read the 3 words 'hot, crustacean band'.I have to sing them.
We've got a Long Weekend coming up here in Australia, assuming it's still playing by then - surely it will in 3 weeks. I might make the journey to the cinema to see it.

Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+
I can understand from a business point of view removing titles that weren't made directly for the service - sometimes it's about a contract but what I don't understand is yanking products made specifically for that service. I just don't think it builds trust in the brand if service specific products...

Re: Barbie live action film
Apparently, Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice (whoever that is) have teamed up with Aqua to recreate the song as Barbie World for the film. That snippet of the song almost confirms the dread I got when I read about the collaboration. I know a lot of people are getting excited with each trailer dropped, but ...

He needs to get that little golden statue somehow, because he isn't getting it for Ther Little Mermaid next year. At least he would be returning to a film he original provided lyrics for

Re: Disney's The Little Mermaid (Live-Action)
Also, if you think about it, Under the Sea is a WONDERFUL song, but doesn’t exactly advance the plot either, (other than just showing us how much Sebastian loves his home). Ariel smiles through it and everything, but it’s pretty clear she’s already made up her mind about the human world being the p...

Re: Disney's The Little Mermaid (Live-Action)
I remember reading an interview at the time of Tangled's release that Menken was advised to limit the use of the songs' melody in the score to increase the chance of getting the movie an Oscar nomination. At the time (not sure if its changed) scores that used too much song themes would be ruled inel...

Re: Disney's The Little Mermaid (Live-Action)
For those score aficionados, Menken's score is now available to listen to in its 'entirety' with the release of the Deluxe Edition. Hopefully it will be a more rewarding experience than the one i had listening to the songs for the first time.

Re: Disney's The Little Mermaid (Live-Action)
How was The Scuttlebutt in the film? The radio station I listen to has had 3 different DJs on 2 different shows rave about how amazing the number is. On record I found it tiresome, unoriginal, half the vocals painful to listen to and not funny at all. Do the visuals elevate the song to amazingness o...

Re: Disney's The Little Mermaid (Live-Action)
I honestly thought Disney had stopped working with Mcdonald's for Happy Meals bonuses as it promoted unhealthy eating. Or maybe that was just in Australia where now we often get books to go with our meals. Healthy minds, unhealthy bodies. [Other movie studios still provide toys for Aussie Maccas]
