Re: Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

This does not need Franco. His character got things in motion, but now he needs to fade into history.

If this is as great as the first one, I'll certainly be happy.

Re: Will Disney buy DWA?

Disney has enough properties. I'd hate to see them buy out DWA. I'd rather that DWA release fewer films and make them great.

Re: X-Men: First Class

Well, it's hard to avoid the subject now:

Pretty terrible news, whether the allegations are true or not. I do suggest, however, that we keep the discussion in this thread to the movie itself.

Re: The Smurfs Sleepy Hollow & Christmas Carol

Oddly, the Christmas one was on the regular BD, but NOT the 3D version.

The specials are new and mostly cel animated, with framing sequences in CGI, if I recall.

Re: The Lego Movie

Whenever I watch this one, I'll always be bracing myself for when it goes off the rails in the end. But the rest is too good to ignore.

Re: Disney's Frozen

Droo is right. And keep in mind, that Disney still wants to launch the 3D Blu-ray this fall, so the 2D only version needed its own distinct release window. Disney knows what they're doing (though the film's immense success has to be a surprise), and they want to milk this one good.

Re: Disney Planning Live Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers Movie

Of course, the current "dark" trend for the likes of Batman is miles away from the real version in the comic books - the "Dark Knight" is not what the original comic books were. Well, of course that depends on which comic you're refering to. The 1980s The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller, and th...

Great for GoBots fans, but personally I'm way more excited about the possibility of more Jonny Quest.

Re: Disney's Frozen

It's made a billion dollars, Eric. So, yes, that does make it a hit. Sorry. I think he meant that it is more than a hit. It's gone well past that and become a phenomenon. It certainly is a hit. I think the music did a lot for it. My nieces go crazy for the soundtrack, singing all the songs from mem...

Re: Disney's Frozen

True, bbut Froen is a much bigger hit. There's a lot more to be milked here. Plus, we know they witheld the 3D version from North Am, so there is certainly another release coming (wich as Eric said, has been verified). True, it may not have more features, but The Digital Bits also reported a more ro...
