Re: Tiny Toons Looniversity

I spy Fowlmouth next to Fifi. :) It's possible (if not fer shurr ) that's Shirley McLoon wearing the pink glasses, in the lower left corner. 8) .. no Mary Melody to be found, though. Seems like all of the original 'human' toons have been expelled from Acme Loo. I'm wondering now whether that raccoon...

Re: Strange World

Maybe you can't, but there are people who can .. they're generally referred to as 'furries'.

When I re-read the second sentence of your first paragraph, above, in a 'neutral' tone .. you're so close to "getting it". Perhaps more people might, someday. :)

Re: YouTube Goodness

A few years ago, I contributed to the Kickstarter for this animated short based on the gorgeously-drawn Lackadaisy comics by Tracy J. Butler .. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtnQ5cIHGHE .. note that this is only the trailer for the short; the completed work is currently scheduled for release in Ma...

Re: Strange World

 One of the primary clues that this movie isn't set within 'our' world is the fact that there was absolutely no stigma attached to Ethan's crush. His mother and father are fully supportive .. even his grandfather (whom he'd never met) didn't bat an eyelash .. .. and his peers clearly only thin...

Re: Strange World

Inside Out , Onward & Elemental have non-human casts that tick the 'diverse appearances' box without the Delgo -esque 'uncanny valley' effect. Illumination's The Grinch also managed this quite well. 8) Or -- perhaps Strange World could've given some indication that the human inhabitants of Avalonia...

Re: Strange World

I watched Strange World on Disney+ this evening, and enjoyed it well enough .. though, I found myself to be a few steps ahead of the plot, at pretty much all times. It did very much feel as though Disney put Moana , Atlantis , Up and even bits of The Croods and other films in a blender, and pressed ...

Re: DMC Exclusive Disney Blus

.. even a cursory 'best of' collection of the silent Alice comedies might've been nice, since that's what the Disney studio was actually making in 1923; which is the reason for the '100' in the first place.

Re: comic strips discussion

2½ years later: Nickelodeon has just scrapped their plans to make a Phoebe And Her Unicorn animated series. It seems Nick executives decided the show was too 'girl-centric', with not enough appeal to boys. :? :( Creator Dana Simpson seems obviously disappointed (and even slightly annoyed) .. but "th...

..but if one of the key grips on the crew happens to be named "Bruce Willis" then they're OK.

Re: Don Bluth discussion

It's somewhat acceptable to put an apostrophe before a decade, i.e., the '90s, the '80s .. since it's a placeholder for the missing (unwritten) 19 . As we've gotten further into the 2000s, though (and especially now that I find myself with a few co-workers who were only just born in this century :sh...
