Re: Blue Sky's Rio

I wonder if Jemaine Clement helped write the song? Indeed he did. Incidentally, will.i.am also wrote the "Hot Wings" number. However, most of the songs were written by John "How to Train Your Dragon" Powell. To be honest, I thought the level of energy was so high and I was never bored and I enjoyed...

Re: Re:

Blue Sky has a lot of potential that they haven't reached quite yet. Horton was awesome, and Rio is gorgeous, but I can't wait until they make their breakout movie. I thought Ice Age was their breakout movie. :? And I personally adored Rio to the point where I will likely buy the Blu-Ray on release...

Re:

(or place it on their own network as a Smallville replacement?) Isn't that what the upcoming live-action show with Teen Titans' Raven is supposed to be doing? Though I haven't heard any other news outside of DC greenlighting a live-action Raven series. But, considering she's my favourite Titan, I h...

I think if anybody disliked the books, it was the real Christopher Robin. Apparently, he was annoyed to get connected with them his entire life.

Yeah, I'm totally lost on the attraction towards me. What's interesting is after claiming I'm too negative, he then quotes a post where I'm pretty much praised Chicken Run to high heaven. But, again this is from ages ago to the point where I don't even remember why I wrote about Chicken Run on a thr...

Re: Re:

Why do you always seem to be so negative and hateful about almost everything, Estefan? Please learn to love. :( I think if you were to look at my post history, you would find the same amount of negative and positive posts as any person here. It seems especially interesting that you've chosen this t...

Wait, why are we discussing which is the superior of two films that haven't even opened yet?

Re: The New DVD and Blu Thread

GeorgeC wrote:(Ironically, the only animated film I can recall her being involved in was a stop-motion movie made in the 1960s where she voiced The Little Mermaid!)
Unfortunately, she also provided a voice for A Troll in Central Park. Also surprised she never provided a voice for an animated film at Disney.

Re: Tron: Legacy

Just read the review on the main page. Great read. However, in regards to your commenting on the summer of '82, I thought Poltergeist (thanks to Spielberg's name atop the poster) also found an audience that summer.* Or, at least, I was under the impression it was a notable hit, even if not coming cl...

Astro Boy

So, today, I watched the first couple of episodes of the 1960s Astro Boy series. It's weird. I'm currently obsessed with the manga, which is actually exciting, page-turning and a brilliant social commentary. The show seems to have none of that, which is surprising considering Tezuka's involvement. T...

Didn't think I would see the day I would watch an animated film worse than A Troll in Central Park and yet, today I watched The Happy Cricket. Terrible dialogue, awful animation, annoying and bland characters, ear-killing songs, bad voice-acting and a story that is so poorly constructed, it's not ev...

Guess I was wrong. Your Highness appears to be the latest Universal flop. Lucky for them, they have Illumination saving their studio.

Also not the first time Cleese has done narration for Disney, as he seemed to pop up constantly as a narrator on episodes of Mickey Mouse Works. While I'm not bothered by the re-casting, I wonder what the reasoning behind them are. Maybe to separate the film from the Pooh of the past twenty years? T...

I think Lotso is calling Cars underrated, because most people (myself included, though I do like it) consider it to be Pixar's worst film. Though, frankly, if Cars is your worst film, you're doing pretty well for yourself. And I think Happy Feet winning the Oscar can be attributed to not just how we...

Did Paul really disappoint? Okay, so it wasn't a big grosser in North America, but that was to be expected. But, it apparently did very well in Pegg and Frost's home country. I also think Your Higness has the potential to do well, though I wonder if James Franco's poor Oscar hosting will lead people...
