Be aware that imported DVD's from Japan will require a 'Region-2' or 'Region-Free' DVD player in order to play in the U.S. :!: (this is not an issue for imported japanese blu-ray discs, since the U.S. and Japan are now in the same 'Region' for that format) --------------- For anyone curious, the sho...

It's Wilbur Robinson's cousin, Tallulah , from Meet the Robinsons .. who is perhaps more easily 'recognizable' in fully-rendered CG 'stills' from the film; my current avatar image is based on an early concept drawing of her: http://www.studioharlow.com/AN/Tallulah_ConceptStills.jpg There's a fairly ...

I'm of a similar opinion; Digital Copy is something that should be 'separately' available for those who need/want it. I can (and will) ignore them in the BD sets on which I'm 'forced' to buy it (i.e. Nightmare Before Christmas ) .. and will opt to buy the version without them, when given that choice...

I'm hoping a Tarzan blu-ray will be in the works, shortly after these titles see release (don't get me wrong; I'm very glad to see many of their early 'classic' titles coming so quickly!) I saw Tarzan in a DLP presentation during its theatrical release .. and it has still stuck with me -- nearly ten...

But, of course, Dreamworks NEVER rips off Pixar movies... And, of course, no other studio besides Pixar has EVER done a spoof movie about superheroes .. EVER. ---------- A Hollywood trade-mag put it best, about a year ago: "superhero movies are the new westerns." It's a popular curren...

I've been a longtime fan of Ariel's sisters. For many years they were forgotten, 'neglected' characters .. but a couple of years ago, someone at Disney (correctly) realized that they had six additional bona-fide 'princesses' that they'd not yet done much with. A few toys and knick-knacks began showi...

That is the least-appealing DVD cover art for a Pixar feature that I've yet seen. :? The composition is completely 'cluttered' .. and featuring the plant on the cover seems somewhat spoiler-y. And on a similar note: why is WALL-E holding the plant while hanging-on to EVE's ship (which EVE happens no...

C.O.R.E. has several divisions; one which handles animated features, one which handles VFX for film/TV, and one which does TV commercials. AFAIK, though, the company is not related to Core Design, the creators of Tomb Raider games. ( Trivia tidbit: William Shatner was one of C.O.R.E.'s founders) But...

Well, it's entirely speculative. .. but, if I were tasked with designing the look of an animated Carmen film, I'd probably use the works of Antoni Gaudi to set the style .. http://yafh.com/image/351bba04-Gaudi01.jpg .. partially because the artist is a good 'match' for both the setting and the perio...

At least we have the Christopher Atkins/Kristy McNichol version, from 1982, on DVD .. http://yafh.com/image/35d26315-PirateMovie01.jpg .. which is perhaps the closest thing to a 'cartoon' version of The Pirates of Penzance that we're likely to get! I still have The Pirate Movie 's soundtrack ...

There are several musicals I've long thought would make interesting animated films .. among them: The Pirates of Penzance (its various songs have been parodied dozens of times in cartoons over the years, so why not try for the whole thing?) Oklahoma! (this could be quite a visual treat, if it used c...
