Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe
I enjoyed GotG vol 3 well enough .. but it continued the trend of the MCU mining The Fantastic Four's rogues gallery, before the FF officially appear in this universe! Both the High Evolutionary & Adam Warlock, in this case .. meanwhile, Prince Namor was featured in Wakanda Forever , while the Super...

Re: Tiny Toons Looniversity
I almost think it might've been a better idea to have 'adult' Buster & Babs & company as faculty at Acme Looniversity, teaching an all-new generation of Tiny Toon characters. Odd to see prominence of Sweetie Bird, who was a fairly minor character on the 1990s show. They introduce her before Hamton a...

Re: Indiana Jones And The New Disney Movies Thread
Disney apparently released only a 'limited run' of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny CD soundtracks, which has already completely 'sold-out' on its 'Disney Music Emporium' online store; in fact, their entire item listing for the IJ-DoD CD has been removed. In response to complaints on Tw...

Re: DC Universe
no spoilers .. but (IMO) the 'in-movie' explanation for how/why the Flash's intervention in time affected events as shown is clever, satisfactory and easy-to-understand.
The movie has a wealth of other story problems .. but that's actually not one of them.
again: IMO

Re: Indiana Jones And The New Disney Movies Thread
Apart from the Dial being a "real" artefact, I also had issues with Indy interacting with real history, as in disrupting the NYC moon landing parade. All his adventures have occurred while history plays out in the background. Even when he bumped into Hitler he didn’t change the path of events, but ...

Re: Indiana Jones And The New Disney Movies Thread
I still enjoyed the new movie enough, for what it is. Certainly, I do feel that it could've been more .. and the ending does feel a bit wonky (but knowing that several endings were shot -- and, likely, several more beyond that were written -- helps to excuse that, somewhat). Funnily enough, my prima...

Re: DreamWorks' Ruby Gillman: Teenage Kraken
I found it very slightly amusing (in a somewhat 'tragic' sense) that Deadline's report on the weekend box office specifically cited the AMC theater here in Burbank, California as having the highest 'per screen' earnings for Ruby Gillman: Teenage Kraken , in the entire USA. Yeah, that's .. that's all...

Just saw it, and enjoyed it!
way, wayyyy better than KotCS .. (though, I know that's a low bar).
Shades of Lupin the Third: The First, throughout .. if you enjoyed one, you'd probably like the other..!

Re: Indiana Jones And The New Disney Movies Thread
"If adventure has a name, it must be Indiana Jones" was a tagline on one of the Temple of Doom movie posters. It feels kinda 'cheap' to see it re-used on the Dial of Destiny poster, above.

Re: Manga & Anime THREAD
I'd figured Puss was coming, once Animal Treasure Island was announced .. but it's nice to have it confirmed. Definite 'day-1' Blu-ray purchase, for me! I'd love to see its sequel films get a release eventually, too. :) I posted some thoughts on the movie awhile back, in the Studio Ghibli thread -- ...

Re: Favorite And Least Favorite Studio Ghibli Movie?
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hayao Miyazaki's latest film -- How Do You Live? -- will be released in Japan with a single poster, and no other marketing; no trailers, no TV spots, and no other print ads.
