Re: Jurassic World

I've surprisingly no worries with that...I think Spielberg has said and done anything and everything he wanted to say and do on dinosaur pictures about half way through The Lost World, so I'm anticipating a new take on the property by fresher eyes. The last thing we wanted was Jurassic Park And The...

Re: Tomorrowland

As for me, I love Bird's films, but he's not an auteur. He's a brilliant, brilliant screenwriter, that's for sure, but as a director it's really Tomorrowland that will prove it either way to me, as his first real solo credit. He's got the John Lasseter touch of having true warm-hearted personal gee...

Re: Disney Renaissance 2/Disney Revival

Prophetic words from earlier in the thread: Oct. 10, 2014 Interesting this thread popped up cause the other day I was thinking that if the Disney Renaissance was in Stage 2 then that would mean Big Hero 6 is doomed to get the Pocahontas response. Big opening, but disappointment it's not Frozen resul...

I'm picturing pouring salt on Turbo, which is just as appropriate an image.

Re: Trailer For new Looney Tunes Movie

And I love me some 'crazy' Lola. Long may her freaky flag fly. If it even partly shuts up the "Bugs is probably gay because he keeps dressing up to fool Elmer!" crowd, I'll tolerate her vile traces of Space Jam corruption in the canon. (And even if she's not Bugs' girlfriend Daisy Lou fro...

Re: Inside Out

Fathom usually plays most of the Cinemark theaters, which have a share of the shopping-mall 'plexes depending on your area--
Nothing for Binghamton, NY, though, unless the listing's too early.

And once again...nobody remembers the movie had any other scene in it.

(Oh, I'm sorry, two scenes--Insert clip of "God Help the Outcasts". )

Re: 1996 film "The Craft" to be be remade

Well, be fair, it's the only teen movie we remember from the 90's (they already brought back Scream), unless they'd be generationally naive and stupid enough to remake "Hackers". (thinks) ...Yep, they'd be stupid enough. Although they're pushing the "Female director" angle, and be honest, there's no...

Let's hope they don't bungle Sunspot in this one like Singer did in DOFP.

And what a nice place to end it indeed. Getting, ahem, back to the subject of Jem, not that I don't want to discuss Giacchino/Dick Tracy some more-- First trailer up on IMDb ("From the makers of Pitch Perfect"), and, um......well, they got the makeup right. https://www.youtube.com/wat...

Re: Man of Steel, Justice League and DC MOVIES

I adored Speed Racer. The race sequences are crazy-exhilarating. And by the end of the final race, I felt elated. (By contrast, I felt nothing at the end of Turbo.) And I still marvel at how Giacchino took the Speed Racer theme and molded it into an outright triumphant anthem at the end of the film...

Re: John Lasseter predicts that iPhones will change nature of filmmaking

Where has JL been?!?!? Some place far, far away where they've never heard of "Found footage" and don't want to push it all off a cliff. Frankly, it's sad that JL sounds like a VERY outdated Apple commercial! Or at best, like one of Google Glass's commercials where they don't know what to sell about...
