Re: Disney Renaissance 2/Disney Revival
And Tangled, unarguably the Little Mermaid of the Renaissance 2, was '10, which would be 15 years. Still ignoring Robinsons, but if he's still ignoring Tangled to say that Frozen Started It All, there's some major problems in his thinking. 2012 would be Wreck-It Ralph, and at least he got that partl...

Re: Inside Out
I'm not so certain of Inside Out as a 'shoo-in' winner for Best Animated Feature. Studio Ghibli will likely be in the running with When Marnie Was There .. which could get extra attention from Academy members as possibly being that studio's final film. Peanuts also looks like it'll be really good, ...

Re: Inside Out
So, next we'll be saying that Anger is just lashing out for being the shortest character? And if Joy has the "ideal body figure", where does that leave Disgust, who has even better curves? (At least we have a healthy percentage of Twits who were first to point out the bashing was just jumping ...

Re: DC Comics challenges Disney Princess with Superhero Girls!
And I do find it odd that the girl villains get lumped in with the girl heroes. DC does have a number of female heroes, after all. Black Canary even shares a show now with Green Arrow, surely that gives her some cred?! Pulling Bumblebee out (she is a heroine, by the way, from the Teen Titans) at le...

Re: X-Men Movies Thread
And Singer's way of handling Storm and all of those...random mutants in DOFP was "emotionally satisfying" by contrast? ;) In the end, Singer's taken what was meant to be a reboot and made it into a "prequel" trilogy...to a trilogy of films that will never actually "happen" now! He's done these them...

Re: DC Comics challenges Disney Princess with Superhero Girls!
As an aside: it's kinda sad to see what's become of Harley Quinn, in recent comics & media. Her original incarnation in Batman: TAS was iconic .. but no-one else at DC/Warner seems to want to let her just be that character. Well, that's the problem--Once you're past Wonder Woman, Batgirl and Superg...

Re: DC Comics challenges Disney Princess with Superhero Girls!
Actually, it's that Warner faithfully believes they can tailor their two or three "core" franchises (Looneys, Batman, DC) to any demographic as needed-- For those who remember their trying to target preschool DC fans with the Krypto cartoon. Or teen-grrls with the "Birds of Prey" series". Or, in rev...

Re: SPIDEY 4 becomes AMAZING SPIDER MAN
After a Sony summer that promises to include Goosebumps and Hotel Transylvania 2, and with Ghostbustresses on the horizon, the issue of how much money they'll have left to sink into their Spiderman Rescue Operation is going to be a big one. They've got their punitive peace treaty with Marvel oversee...

Re: 3 billion dollar overhaul of Disney's Hollywood Studios
One fan suggested that Inside Out would be better suited to theming the Imagination building at Epcot, like Nemo rethemed Living Seas, and while Imagination's also rumored to be on the chopping block....(sigh) probably never going to happen. I could see it being so good, though.

Re: 3 billion dollar overhaul of Disney's Hollywood Studios
While fans read one sentence and translate that into "They're building Star Wars Land!" (seriously, so much as mention the studios to a Parks and/or SW fan... ), we've known that the whole-park overhaul was in the works, just that it wasn't officially confirmed until they finally tore down th...

Re: Disney to buy Marvel
Yep--Also, for all the fanboys nagging "When are we going to get Mark Ruffalo in the Planet Hulk movie?", we're not.
Disney owns the animated/marketing rights, and Marvel Studios owns the right to use the Hulk in the Avengers, but Universal still holds the rights on any more solo films.

Re: Inside Out
Shoe-in for BAF, but I'm 99% sure it will get a Best Pic nom as well. And maybe win? You never know! :) Regardless of the film itself, I think it's not too implausible that there's going to be a big, big push for it-- Part of the whole 10 nomination stunt happened because Wall-E "should" have beate...

Re: Disney to buy Marvel
It’s been five years since the Walt Disney Company bought Marvel for $4 billion. In the immediate, the Internet showed its ability to put mouse ears on the Hulk at every freakin’ blog ever. Yeah, kinda fun to look back at those paranoid post-Eisner "Disney's going to turn The Avengers/Star Wars int...

Re: Prince of Egypt being adapted to stage
Not really in favor of POE stage show. What exactly is the point? One of if not the best thing about the film is its spectacular use of traditional animation--the colors, shadows, camera work, fluidity--they all make it the classic that it is. Why mess with that? Aside from the fact that Katzenberg...
