Re: X-Men: First Class

True. Remember, though, that straights pull these kinds of shenanigans too. Unfortunately, they don't get called on it nearly as often.

Re: X-Men: First Class

In any case, Singer is countersuing, so if whatshisname wants to avoid looking like a complete fool, he's going to have to prove that he's not making this up and I'd venture to say that witness testimony alone won't do it. People lie on the stand all the time and judges know this, so if he doesn't h...

Re: X-Men: First Class

Eddie can believe what he wants, of course, and is coming at this from a personal direction... I'd asked him what working with the man who killed Superman was like. Hmmm... Sounds to me like you're "coming at this from a personal direction" too. Just saying. The reason I take this kind of thing per...

Re: Planes: Fire & Rescue

Unfortunately, I think Oz is going to be a victim of bad timing. Between X-Men, Spider-Man, Godzilla and Maleficent all coming out the same month, it's very likely to get buried.

Re: Disney's Frozen

A part of me wishes that all the people buying the soundtrack are also enjoying the score section. But I imagine many purchasers listen from the opening track to Demi's Let It Go and then quickly jump back to Track 1. It's always kind of annoyed me that Disney soundtracks keep the songs and score s...

Re: Planes: Fire & Rescue

<t>And that icky sequel wasn't even bad to begin with. I thought it was on par with Brave, which was not terrible, but not tremendously great either. Kind of sad, then, that Monsters University (which was better than both and equal to its predecessor) got snubbed. If the Oscars didn't want to give P...

Re: Planes: Fire & Rescue

Yes, and I left one forum in disgust (I'll be polite enough not to say which one) after being shouted down one too many times by the fanatical Frozen fans when I was trying to discuss it's pros and cons in an intelligent, civil manner (Yes, really. Stop laughing). Apparently it doesn't compute with ...

Re: X-Men: First Class

Well...you know...they have these things called helicopters and planes that take people from one place to another in pretty quick time. All the way to LA and back within the span of a few hours? While also spending hours at this party he was supposedly at? Are you aware of how completely ridiculous...

Re: Planes: Fire & Rescue

Okay, Eddie, you asked for this one... Well, you got me there. Seriously, though, it's not that I dislike anything popular (I really enjoyed Avatar, for instance, and can't wait for the sequels), but I am getting tired of the general attitude that says "How dare you disagree with the majority...

Re: Disney's Frozen

For what it's worth, Eric, I'm gay and I can't stand those people any more than you. We genuinely are in a civil rights struggle and have been for decades, but people like that do not help the cause. They make us look whiney and immature.

Re: Planes: Fire & Rescue

Question: Why is it considered completely acceptable to heap a crapton of hate on Planes (or the Cars franchise in general for that matter), but not Frozen? Those of us who were (mostly) unimpressed with Frozen have to deal with being surrounded by people who imply there's something wrong with us be...

Re: Disney's Frozen

No, It's about refusing to compromise your personal integrity by holding yourself back in order to conform to other people's standards. Only if you completely ignore the song's context within the film, which is that she's solving her problems by running away from them and it's very strongly implied...

Re: X-Men: First Class

<t>Well, it was reported this morning (via a statement from Singer's lawyer) that it is literally impossible for the lawsuit's claims to be true because he was in Canada filming X-Men 1 at the time this stuff supposedly happened. Seeing as how that's an easily verifiable alibi with numerous potentia...

Re: Disney's Frozen

The difference is that Everything Is Awesome actually works very well as an uplifting message. Let It Go is about solving your problems by running away from them and implies that she's fully aware of what her powers are doing and doesn't care. How is that uplifting again?

Re: X-Men: First Class

The only way to make this work in my mind is to ignore the post-credits teaser completely and say that the previous series ended with The Wolverine (fitting since that makes his solo films bookends to the whole thing). Days Of Future Past is X-Men Part One. Again. It might have the same actors, but ...
