Duncan Studios' Kickstarter Project

Taking advantage of the sudden interest in Kickstarter that resulted from Tim Schafer and Double Fine Studios' highly successful campaign, Ken Duncan and his animation studio is putting together their own campaign. They are looking to raise $35,000 by May 24 at 6:41pm (GMT) to develop a storybook app called "My Beastly ABC's", which will be narrated by Jim Dale (who does the audiobook readings for the Harry Potter books in America).

Depending upon the amount pledge, backers can receive special items including the app itself, a copy of the Duncan Daily Doodle Book 2011 edition, personalized art of the project, tour of Duncan Studios, and twenty sheets of an animation scene.

As of posting, they've received over $14,000, so they still have a ways to go.

Just to give you guys an update.

As of writing, they are roughly 41 hours away from the deadline and they are just a little over $3,000 away from the goal (They have $31,918 of the needed $35,000). I think making note about this on the front page was helpful as I noticed how the numbers increased more and more since.

Less than an hour ago from now, the $35,000 goal was reached with 27 hours left before the deadline. Any additional pledges they receive from now until the deadline will likely go into enhancing the app or improving the prizes.

Like James, I kicked in $50 to the project before they reached their goal.

The final tally became $37,900. That's 108% of the goal funding.

Duncan Studio expects to start sending out the rewards around September, the estimated timeframe they will have the app completed by.
