So this is happening...

Notice how they're practically making their legal case in the official press release. But it won't help their cause. They are clearly trying to profit off of the Harry Potter "brand name" here.

...CLEARLY.

I'd though Buechler was trying to cash in on all the cult-phenomenon marketing of Troll 2, or escape it, since that had absolute zero to do with the original film (which wasn't too bad, really, in an early-Full-Moon sort of way) and was only a title change by the distributor.
But when we got the "Animated TV series", okay, that's it, we're in Filmation's Ghostbusters territory here.

They'll have to hope for luck once they hear from a certain narcissistic British woman's legal team, and from Warner trying to police any knockbusters of their Fantastic Beasts movie (which will probably also stick Harry's name in the title so we get the point).
Fortunately, it's only a foreign-animated CGI, so who cares?
