Re: 2014 San Diego Comic Con
Still working up on my report of the last two days and throwing in photos as well, but I figured I'd post the brief video clips I took of the Young Justice Meet Up. You'll see Greg Weisman selling scripts he wrote and Vanessa Marshall interacting with fans dressed as her character Black Canary while eating her late lunch.
Re: 2014 San Diego Comic Con
You know who Vanessa Marshall's mother is. right?
She's NOT the first person in her family to voice act-- and nor was she the first in the family to voice a superhero.
Her mother is Joan Van Ark and she was the first actor to voice the original Spider-Woman, Jessica Drew, in the late 1970s Spider-Woman animated series. That show hasn't aged well. It never sat well with me how wussy the male characters, including Spider-Man, were portrayed in that show even back then in first-run. Antimasculine writing is as bad as antifeminine writing...
Marshall's been one of a handful of actors to voice Wonder Woman and voiced Mary Jane Watson in The Spectacular Spider-Man animated series.
