Michael Bay finally giving Shia LaBeouf and not deciding not to beat the "Sam's parents" sitcom subplots into the ground with every sequel (one entire hour in every movie, before we get to the first special effect!)...Riiiiiiiight. I only dream nights wishing it.

I must be one of the few here who enjoy Sam's parents. At least I know what is going on when they are on the screen.

Re: Transformers 4
Well, they're certainly not complex...How were you with John Malkovich and "Deep Wang" in the last one?I must be one of the few here who enjoy Sam's parents. At least I know what is going on when they are on the screen.
(And I'm not one to fanboy-pit one blockbuster against the other, but the chaotic destruction of NY in "Marvel's Avengers" looked so much like the last hour of TF3--done right--that you just wanted to rub Bay's face in it, like the family dog with a stain on the carpet, and say "Okay, now, y'see, Mike, THIS is what one of your movies could look like without the moronic racist sitcom giggles. We're in no mood to laugh, and we'd go next door to the Will Ferrell comedy if we were.")

Re: Transformers 4
Deep Wang was ridiculous and I honestly cannot recall Malkovich's role in #3, but then I don't remember a lot of #3. But I still stand by my opinion that Sam's parents are enjoyable characters, especially in the first movie. I don't want a whole movie involving them but as comic relief they do their job well. I haven't seen The Avangers yet, so can't comment on what you've just spolken aout EricJ
