Disney Releasing first CGI Doraemon Movie!

For those of you who don't know the "mickey mouse of japan".

Still no us release. Viz had the us rights for years and even dubbed one of the movies in english but never released it! Will we ever get the series in english?

Given that it's thirty years long, that's the ONE thing that's scared every importer off from the series.
(That, and the wimpy hero and the primitive "children's comic strip" look of the characters.)

The new CGI "reboot" probably isn't the best place for Disney to start, but there are some cuter features (pretty much cookie-cutter extended-episode features, like the Pokemon movies) from the late 90's and early 00's that are more in line with the tone of the series.
Not sure about the new ones, but at one point, Viz was going to start with the then recent "Nobita & the Green Giant", which is one of the worst in the recent series, a wild shark-jumper convinced it was homaging Studio Ghibli.

There was a remake series from around 2006. Plus a movie every year with todays animation. They didn't even import the movie that had johney depp in it! It's out in almost every country but the english ones! We got tokyo pig and fighting foodoms but not this?
