Yes, the cutesy character (meant to be kinda creepy cute) who's in the movie for around 30 seconds (or less) totally meant the movie "didn't get" the message. :roll:

I actually thought they did great with Horton. It's not like the Russian peasant allegory would have been topical in the 2000s, so I think a change to a more general moral with the same basic theme was appropriate.

The Lorax, however, was a mess! People might not see environmentalism as such a divisive issue if the centrists took control of the messaging over the wack-a-doodles!
