Pee-Wee's Playhouse on DVD

Post by PixarVixen » June 7th, 2006, 4:38 pm

I keep seeing these teasers on Adult Swim that don't show anything but say something like, "Remember this?", and it plays the music before you enter Pee-Wee's Playhouse. And then it says, Coming July 10th. Excited much. :D

LOL! Really? Aww. I'm sorry everybody! I just assumed they meant it was coming to DVD.

Well, at least now I don't have to run out and buy it. :P

Hey PV, Pee Wee's Playhouse actually is on dvd. Two volumes' worth. If you want to get it, amazon.com probably has it. Happy hunting.

Funny how it's on Adult Swim, considering that it's kinda considered an "adult show" now, because of the innuendo. (I never got it as a kid.)

Remember those talking Pee-Wee dolls? :)

I remember those, but I don't have one.

I actually have the playhouse with all the action figures. I probably have every character.

I never had a Pee-Wee doll either. I think they used to talk too. Plus the talking armchair as well.

I did have a Cabbage Patch Kids dollhouse, however. It opened up and also had a handel that you could carry it with. :)

Remember Penny (the claymation girl with blonde pigtails) from Pee-Wee? Even after the show got cancled she was in T.V. ads for kids. "Drugs are bad...I don't do drugs!" :)

Now that's just wrong.

Yes, especially with Saved By The Bell. What on Earth were they thinking?

I can see Pee-Wee being on Adult Swim though. There are some animated parts. Then again, it isn't really a mature-themed show, so I dunno. It'll be cool to see it after so many years.

Don't forget the Pee-Wee Christmas special!

I don't believe it's in either box set (which contain ALL the Saturday morning segments as far as I know).

The X-Mas special has been out on DVD for at least 2-3 years now.

On Tuesday, I was reading the Style section in the newspaper, and there on the top of the paper was Damien, the creepy little boy from "The Omen". Then on the bottom, there was Pee-Wee. In other words, it was the scariest newspaper section I'd ever seen.

Not sure why, guys, but that guy scares the living daylights out of me. When I was younger, I couldn't even stand looking at him!

Haha. Sorry about that.

Pee-Wee never scared me as a child. Chucky maybe, but Pee-Wee? The only possible reason for your fear of him could've been that he looked like he had makeup on. :?:

the creepy little boy from "The Omen".
I always found him frightening as a child, too.

About Pee-Wee:

When I was nine years old in day camp, we were on an overnight trip and somehow it got around that they were going to take us to see "Big Top Pee- Wee." For some reason I became terrified then and couldn't stop crying.
I really don't know why. Anyway, it was just a rumor, we ended up going to see "License to Drive," instead. (really dumb Cory Haim movie.)

I can see how Pee-Wee could scare someone.

Actually, Cartoon Network are VERY much interested into getting in to live-action and becoming WB's own kind of Nick/Disney Channel.
