Mighty Mouse coming to DVD next year...

Postby GeorgeC » October 6th, 2009, 3:50 pm

From The Digital Bits, Tuesday 6 October 2009 --

"Paramount has United States of Tara: The First Season due on DVD on 12/19 (for Showtime), followed by Mighty Mouse: The New Adventures - The Complete Series, Max & Ruby: Playtime With Max & Ruby and The Backyardigans: Join the Adventurers Club on 1/5/10. "

*******

I presume they mean the 1980s series Ralph Bakshi and John Kricfalusi worked on.

Hopefully, the original theatrical shorts and made-for-TV shorts (other than the awful Filmation series) could follow, too.

I liked some of these, but I'd dearly like to have the originals...and even the Filmation shows of the late 1970s.

Anyone else remember The Great Space Chase? It was a series of five-minute segments from the half hour show that were eventually grouped into a pretty legit feature. Funny writing and a decent little film, which I'm at least glad to have on VHS along with around three-to-five hours of original Terrytoons.

I once passed on picking up that tape for a few dollars, and kinda regretted it. :(

The DVD release will also include three original Terrytoons, so that's a start.
