A Fututrama simulator ride!

Postby CoryMitchell » March 31st, 2005, 9:50 am

Hey guys,
I just wrote an article for Jim Hill Media that details the ressurection of alot of different TV shows, including a show that I worked on called "Home Movies" The coolest part of the article in my opinion in where I detail the proposed Futurama simulator ride that has been making the rounds to different theme parks. If you guys would link to it, I would be enternally grateful!

"We're whalers on the moon
We carry a harpoon
But there ain't no whales
So we tell tall tales
And sing a whaling tune."

You really should've worked the word "fungineer" in there!

Futurama

Postby GeorgeC » May 30th, 2005, 7:50 pm

Gee, Fox is finally realizing that Family Guy and The Simpsons won't be around forever?

The millionth rumor about a proposed revival of Futurama as a series of direct-to-video (Original Video Animation) movies is up at http://news.toonzone.net/article.php?ID=3753

Not new new news, but rather old new news about the science-fiction parody series that refuses to stay dead like Dracula.

Oh, and there's the first single DVD collection of Futurama episodes featuring Bender on destructive benders...

(Had to get in a bad pun somewhere. :D )

I would have rather seen a big theatrical Futurama movie to end everything up good. :\

Quite funny, but better if you could put them together and create a conversation!

Postby Macaluso » January 20th, 2006, 11:57 am

From Billy West (the voice of Fry, Zoidburg, Farnsworth and numerous other Futurama characters) on his forum:

http://www.billywest.com/forum/forum_po ... PN=1&TPN=4

"HERE'S GREAT NEWS!
Here's the official word on Futurama!!
David X. phoned me about an hour ago and said that this Futurama project
is a done deal! Here's the word from DX---
There are 4 DVD movies that we'll start recording at the end of July or
August.Full feature length FUTURAMA movies.
Everybody is excited to get back together--as I am!

Into the Future,
Billy"

I love this show. It's just so crazy!

Hmmmm.....wonder why David X Cohen changed his middle initial??

(On the Simpsons he was David S.)

Something about it was already taken by someone else; when he joined something(I forget now)
The 'X' makes a better SciFi sounding name as well, he said :D

I guess. It looks cool anyway.

My fave Futurama eps are the Slurm episode and the Star Trek one (where the entire cast of the original Trek guest starred.)

I think Matt Greoning said that the treatment of Futurama by Fox was the worst experience in his career.

Welcome Parker 151,

Thanks for your post! I hope you realize that this is your last--- naw, just
kidding! I'm glad that you got to see that stuff and you laughed.
I've talked extensively about this subject. Here's a little of the story.

All the stuff you see or hear from when I was on-- ended 11 plus years
ago. Some of the audio replays are from 16 years ago.I got out when I was
at the peak of my radio career. You rarely get a second chance to go out
on top like that.I was all done with it in 1995.I started in Boston in
1981.That's 25 years ago.I'm a radically different guy than I was then.But
it's so pissa' to see this ''internet arguement'' continue until people's
fingers fall off.I'm just tending my garden and when a few A-holes attack
me over this stuff,I just give 'em the old ''digitus impunicus.''

I'm thisclose to selling my show--''Billy *******--Amateur Human Being,''
And the other good news is that they're doing 26 new episodes of
''Futurama'' for TV and we're hammering out the deal now.The original
plan was to have the DVD's first but that's no longer the case.I'm totaly
jammed dude.

Greetings from the year 3000! It still sucks!

Billy

As the cancelled syndicated animated comedy poured into the fiery quasar, a wondrous thing happened, why not? It vaporized into a renewed television season that spread across the universe destroying many, many planets, including two gangster planets and a cowboy world. But one planet was exactly the right distance to see the romantic rays but not be destroyed by them: Earth! So all over the world nerds stood together in joy. And me, Macaluso. And no one could have been happier unless it would have also been March 19th.

What? It was? Hooray!

I guess Mac is happy with this news! Hooray for Futurama!!

BTW, it never fails to surprise me how these voice over guys, who often also do a fair amount of kids characters, are so vulgar when they speak for themselves. I'm NO prude, but why the unsuitable profanity??
