Don Adams, the actor/comedian best known as Agent 86/Maxwell Smart on the 1960s TV series "Get Smart," has died at age 82. He passed away Sunday at Cedars-Sinai from complications due to lung infection.
Adams was also the original voice of Inspector Gadget on the animated TV series of the same name. He was succeeded in that role by Maurice LaMarche I believe...
Maxwell Smart is dead...

Wowsers....didn't they do a "Get Smart: The New Generation" pilot back in 1995 with Adams' real-life son and his dad teaming up?

You can’t just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!

Yes, it was made by HBO and only lasted a season (of which I don't think the whole thing was aired).
There was also a theatircal movie, The Nude Bomb, in 1980 (retitled The Return of Maxwell Smart for TV showings), with Syliva Kristel as his sidekick, and a terrible 1989 TV Movie called Get Smart, Again!, which was a pretty lame affair.
