Yeah, it sounded a bit outrageous to me... hence my rant peppered with disclaimers. :P I might jump off something not very high if it really did happen, though.

Funny think is, someone at my work bought it hook, line and sinker. I heard people gossiping all about the news in the hallways friday.

Didn't catch me. As soon as I saw Bay's name I knew something was off and I approached with caution. If it was going to be him they would have held off an announcement until after Transformers opens.

I wasn't fooled for a second.

Seriously. ;)

Interesting. Raimi certainly has the same background as Jackson, and even shares a love of hand-held camera shots.

Certainly in style the film(s) would be akin to the Rings trilogy, but c'mon...we all know Jackson is the man to do this.

I'd love to see Del Toro do it actually (as long as he had the freedom).

Yeah, if Jackson can't direct The Hobbit, I'd like to see Guillermo del Toro take a crack at it. Still, I really hope it's Jackson who directs the prequel.

I was disappointed too, but if you've noticed, the moderators haven't been around here much lately--I think they're probably very busy with a bunch of stuff, maybe they didn't have time or something. Oh well, there's always next year.

We decided to do nothing this year after the big joke last year. We actually were enjoying you guys waiting in anticipation for something to happen. Maybe that was the best joke!
