Not 100 years, but... The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

I've really been waiting over a decade for this. Avatar is one of my favorite films ever, and the trailer is absolutely breathtaking. I just hope I get to go to this in theaters.

I’m just wondering which 100 year old movie gets ripped off this time…
Well, not "Metropolis", that was 1927...

I am SO totally not jazzed for this. More of the usual Cameron boys with toys stuff. And I’m still missing what exactly is "new" or "improved" about the whole thing…?

Haha, "VFX by WETA"…

Geddit!?

WET-A…?

As in…"wetter"!?

Wetter! Because of all the water, and…

Oh, nevermind… ;)

Ben, I love you, but even I have my limits for bad puns…

(Well, sort of, but couldn't resist the old-radio-ref setup. )

This Sunday is the broadcast premiere of the original on ABC and on Tuesday a Special Edition of 20/20. Two memos for Dacey. ;)

How the original should have ended:

"Dude, people are dead now!"

Yeah, why didn’t the "sky people" just blow the $#!+ out of the tree of life!?

I was just happy that the film *did* end…! :)

PVOD on March 28.

Clever Disney. No straight to D+ but going the multi-vendor route first. Interesting to see if they then go physical disc or D+ streaming next, or basically release it in all the usual avenues first and then it finds an evermore home on D+. That makes most sense as I don’t think massive films drive the D+ subscriptions, but they do lose money by going straight there and leaving other channel money on the table.

The other funny thing was that in Disney’s press release there’s no mention of cost! Nice of them to give it away anyway! ;)

Not clever at all. HBO max thanks to the fox deal has streaming rights!
