My Little Pony: The Movie

Post by Dacey » August 25th, 2017, 4:53 pm

Another thread we've been needing. Though it's been drawing plenty of hype from fans, this still remains a "wild card" in terms of box office, largely thanks to Lionsgate being behind it. And big screen movies for popular TV series have been both hits (SpongeBob) and major misses (Hey Arnold!) financially.

"Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift--that is why it's called the present."

Info on next film. Will be cg this time and start a "next generation" with the old cast passing the torch to the new. So is it going to be like the 80s transformers movie and kill the old cast off 5min into the movie?

Lol.

By the way while i don't keep up with this ip much i looked it up and this is the 5th big screen mlp movie!

Shocked they made that many! That's bugs bunny and snoopy number of films!

New generation of ponies to new generation of fans.
Brand new cast.
Old cast (Mane 6?) will be featured but the majority of the focus will be on the new characters.
A new ensemble of cast means exciting new products.
Toys are innovative and stays true to the DNA of the characters.
Working with a powerhouse like Paramount was incredible.
eOne editorial team is also working on the movie.
Movie releasing September 24th, 2021.

Funny enough, the person that came up with My Little Pony lives up the road from us, in a converted farmhouse/barn about three houses down the next country road. I’ve never met them, but one track does take you through the back of their land, next to the massive house that Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman rented when they were over here to shoot Eyes Wide Shut.

And that’s the end of the shameless name dropping for today... ;)
