If you can't wait until next week, here is a recorded version of a trailer that has just begun showing in front of Planes with it's release in Australia (hence all the Boxing Day references). No idea if this is the same trailer for the US version that gets revealed next week.

Nevermind, Disney caught it and removed it.

I don't know ... for some reason this one looks kind of stupid to me. I think the snowman character looks kind of lame, and the insistence to cram the movie full of modern colloquialisms and sensibilities seems more annoying than usual. Perhaps I'm just not in the right frame of mind, but ... that next Pixar movie is looking further and further away.

.. as far as Disney's marketing department is concerned, anyway.

Remember, the trailers & ads for Tangled were kinda  , too ..

Particularly in that we get a LOT of Flynn & Rapunzel banter here, but literally about five seconds of the Snow Queen sister. (While it was the other way around in the Japanese trailer.) From what I've heard, the balance is a little more 50-50 in the final movie.
But then, we never saw more than one or two lines of Mother Goethel in the Tangled trailers, either...

Their other job seems to be putting that "strange" teaser into context and saying "See, the snowman IS funny!", but they seem to be doing a good job of that, too.

To be honest I really don't see any Tangled similarities - except for the promote the hell out of the humour to get bums on seats. Other places keep talking about how Anna looks like Rapunzel, but I honestly cannot see it.

To be clear: I'm noting the similarities in Disney's marketing of the two films .. not between the movies themselves (one of which I enjoyed despite its annoying trailers .. and another which I've not yet seen). ;)

I, likewise, don't see much 'design similarity' between Anna and Rapunzel .. other than that both are adorable.

Well, let's be honest here and say that Frozen has been made because Tangled was a hit. That's just how Hollywood works, and one popular film will spawn others similar to it. Remember that Snow Queen was dead at Disney's until Tangled smashed...and you just know the order from on high was "we'd like another one like that please"...
