Wow.

A few spoilers, (one major one) but I'm still so jazzed!! :)

http://www.digitalspy.com/movies/x-men/ ... very-dark/

(Basically Apocalypse will be extremely dark. The article explains why.)

Here's the headline in case you don't want to read the whole article. Warning: some intense stuff.
X-Men: Apocalypse is going to get very dark, says James McAvoy

Star teases torture, death and his bond with Jennifer Lawrence's Raven.

A week is not much of a deal, Vi. You guys used to get Disney films a year in advance!

Pertinent to the X-movies thread, there has been a lot of industry speculation about the Fox v. Disney "Marvel Not-So-Secret Wars":
Deadpool, while it was supposed to be hip and snarky, dropped a LOT of Katzenberg-esque razzes at Disney and the Avengers half of the MCU, leading some to suspect that Fox is going to be overdosing on their box-office hubris for the time being, and not about to suffer remorse about holding out their X-heroes any time soon like Sony did with Spiderman.

And since Marvel now wants its print-comic canon to reflect and work in tandem with the MCU (ie. Tony Stark in the print comics now looks and talks like Robert Downey Jr.), there's been less and less focus on the X-mutants, since Disney is not in the business of promoting Fox franchises.
Wolverine has been substituted with the "Old Man Logan" series--so Hugh Jackman can't complain--and more and more new heroes, like Ms. Marvel, are turning out not to be mutants (since Fox would immediately lay claim to them), but innocent victims of "the Terragen Mist", thus leading to the Inhumans series that Disney/Marvel wants to float as their competing franchise.
Quite literally, it's "If Marvel can't have the X-Men, no one will." And on the whole, it's hard to blame them.

Nice going, Fox--At this rate, we'll have the Xavier School torn down within a year. :?

I must've seen a different movie? :?

And there's no reason for Fox to give up X-Men so long as the films continue to do well for them. Spidey was mishandled so badly by Sony's "reboot" that they almost had no choice but to share him after a certain point.

...and now Fox's Gambit has been delayed again, and a Venom movie is back on the cards at Sony.

The whole non-Marvel Marvel business is such a mess!

Cool new poster: :)

On the headline, I'm not worried. It's a concern of mine as well, but from what I've read so far it really seems as though Apocalypse is front and center in this film, and Magneto more of a secondary character.

Is there any reason X-Men posters usually end up being so mediocre?

I actually thought the DOFP one was better than the others. It had more of a painting look to it:

Oh em gee...that's just laughable!

The posters are mediocre, Dacey, to reduce our expectations: you never quite know what you're going to get with an X-Men flick.

And this, so far, looks like the most childish of the lot. Seriously, this looks like a Saturday morning cartoon. "Puttin' on the ritz!", indeed! ;)
