What you probably heard was that he was dropping out of "Cowboys vs. Aliens" so he could DO "Sherlock Holmes 2: the Rise of Moriarty" (or whatever the title ends up being).
And judging from the first one, it wasn't a bad choice. :D

It does, however...sound like a Dreamworks movie: :?
We first meet Metro Man at the dedication of the city's new museum. He's introduced to the strains of the remix of Elvis Presley's "A Little Less Conversation"...He flies out over the crowd, giving high-fives and juggling babies.
...
Roxanne is anything but scared of her captor; she's been kidnapped by Megamind so many times that she knows all his tricks and is simply annoyed by his schtick.
...
it turns out his Achilles' heel, his kryptonite, is copper. "Copper?! Are you for real?," Megamind asks incredulously.
...
So he sets out to create a new superhero to challenge him, and he finds him in a fat schmoe named Hal (voiced by Jonah Hill, because Jack Black must've apparently dropped out)
...Yep. It's when you start to KNOW that it's a Katzenberg movie. :P

Oops...mistakes all around!

I meant that Downey also had Sherlock as a franchise in reply to this line:

On the OoberMind/Despicable Me's lack of originality article...I obviously wrote that a couple of months ago, based on the information at hand back then, so I didn't have the benefit of test screening comments! But whether it turns out to be like The Incredibles or not is moot: of course it won't be an exact duplicate, but the article's point was that these films are spins on a concept which itself was already a spin, and you can bet that we wouldn't have had either of these titles if The Incredibles hadn't come along and been a hit.

We'll just have to see how it turns out when we see it.

Wow. They could have at least gotten away a bit more from being so close to Syndrome at least.

He looks to me like Gallaxhar from "Monsters Vs. Aliens."

Animation looks REALLY smooth. Seems like a trailer that was put together in a bit of a rush, though.

And Ferrell actually doesn't sound much like himself, until the final line at the end.

Looks pretty interesting :D Keep in mind, this is just a trailer, more of a teaser. Looking forward to some more updates.
