Wonder how that would play out on the show? On his first official interview about it to EW last month, Arnold mentioned Maria and his kids were also on the show (but apparently he hadn't told them yet). My guess is that now she won't, but maybe he'll have a generic wife on the show (that would be st...

Too bad about Arnold and Maria.

I think this is a good thing. It will almost ten years (!) since the original came out. There are a lot of kids out there that never got to see the original in theaters. This will be their chance.

Lorikeet. It ended up as "Fresh" on Rottentomatoes at 73% today. Overall, not bad. I don't think it's winning any awards, but should be a fun movie.

Ben, I'm afraid of this, but the story itself is simpler than the one in Lord of the Rings. Then again, Peter Jackson expanded that story to include many more emotional plot points so it could be done again.

Cartoon Network Upfronts

I was suprised there was little mention in the forums on the new shows being developed for Cartoon Network next season. Here's the list (from http://news.turner.com/article_display.cfm?article_id=5610): The Problem Solverz Secret Mountain Fort Awesome The Amazing World of Gumball The Looney Tunes Sh...

That's a good deal on Shrek. I've been meaning to at least upgrade Shrek and Shrek 2 to Blu-ray, but the Pixar ones are definitely getting an upgrade. I can't wait to see Incredibles on BD.

I'm not entirely opposed to this. I read the EW article explaining the show. I'm sure it's going to be targeted at kids. They don't care who Arnold was. They will just know him from the cartoon show. If they can make it funny, it could work.

In terms of Ghibli, what I'm waiting for the most are Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away on Blu-ray.

Alma

Just watched Alma, a short, online today. It's highly recommended. It's not a Pixar short, but the animator, Rodrigo Blass, works at Pixar. Check it out before it's gone: http://www.geekweek.com/2010/01/watch-pixar-animators-short-alma-before-its-too-late.html Overall, it's very good animation and s...

Watched it and liked some of it. It felt a little rushed, but it was a 20 min show anyways. Still, it was fun for what it was. I always enjoy the penguins, but I wish they had used some of the main characters more. There were only one or two gags with them and could have been more.

I prefer Disney's program as well. I prefer to get a discount than to get a whole new DVD. Then again, for some of my older titles with scratches, this might be a great idea.

I doubt it will affect how Disney feels about SotS. I just don't see the connection. The movie is in the vault for several reasons, none of which are addressed by Princess and the Frog. If it does leave the vault, it's because they've gotten over their issues, but I don't think it'll be because of t...

I just actually re-watched the original movie on Halloween. It reminded me of all the good times I had watching the original animated series. I never got around to purchasing the first volume on DVD. I'd better get on to that.

I have spent the day going over the bonus features on my new BD of Snow White. while I appreciate the museum quality structure of the Hyperion Studios feature, I'm frustrated by how long it takes you to get where you left off. Unless you're doing this all at once, it could take almost ten minutes be...
