Re: Live action Tom and Jerry Movie

Tom & Jerry to go straight-to-HBO Max "and theaters"--along with WB's entire 2021 slate: https://deadline.com/2020/12/warner-bros-2021-movie-slate-hbo-max-matrix-4-dune-in-the-heights-1234649760/ RIP to the theatrical industry. There's no way Disney and Universal don't do something similar next year...

Re: DuckTales Reboot

Given how ambitious the series has been, this sadly signals the end of an era for Disney placing anything resembling a priority on Disney XD or even Disney Channel programing, and indicates all of their future efforts will go to Disney+.

Re: Official Star Wars Thread

Solo: A Star Wars Story soundtrack getting released on Deluxe Edition with the entire score included. Sadly only a digital release, but pretty cool all the same. It's a terrific track which I think would've gotten more attention if "John Williams" were the soul credit name. https://www.comingsoon.ne...

Re: Despicable Me 3

Where should I start? By mentioning that DreamWorks Animation has made more fully animated network holiday specials than Disney and Pixar combined since Shrek the Halls, or by pointing out that The Grinch was literally shown on NBC last night. :?

Re: Despicable Me 3

So the Minions "Holiday" Special was literally nothing new. All shorts from previous DVD releases (and only one with a Christmas theme), plus commercial bumpers and old seasonal trailers used to add to the "holiday" aspect of it all. Didn't even have funny narration or anything to attempt to string ...

Re: Pocahontas

My brother was Kokoum for Halloween the year the original came out. Somehow I don't think Disney would release that costume today (considering the Maui "controversy" from a while back). Which is to say that Pocahontas is probably one of the last 90's movies Disney would remake, since everyone is wal...

Re: Live action Tom and Jerry Movie

Except that...that wasn’t the joke at all. “Poochie” was a reference to overly hip characters (created by “marketing research committees”) who get added to TV shows in order to spice things up, something that the episode was extremely blatant about.

Re: Live action Tom and Jerry Movie

At the end of the day, T&J: The Movie had barely any impact on pop culture. Making Poochie be a "reference" to him (which of course he isn't!) wouldn't have made any sense when the majority of the audience would have no idea who "Pugsie" was.
